FOOTBALL, THE }
KING OF SPORTS
Following is a poem about the‘!
“King of Sports”, as told by the 12-|
year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Jim Hill, of Blakely: H
The football game is ready to start,
And all of the people have pep in
their hearts.
The players are ready, its about to
begin, |
A feeling of excitement, a chill in
th wind. ]
The ball is off, a good one at that, !
A man has caught it. he runs like!
a cat. l
Number 88 has got him, he's down !
on the ground, ‘
But don't you worry, he's safe and
sound.
The game goes on, its near the end,
Now theres a question of ‘who's go
ing to win.
The countdown is here, no one's
happier than I
I For I was for both, and now its
a tie!
' 7 to 7 may be that scorebut why
worry,
There will always be more.
And as I said, there will be no end,
Of good sportsmanship, and the
spirit to win.
