ADDRESS
Lt. Governor Louise Cobb re=

wonderful Pilot Code suggesting
that they apply the code, live up
to the code, because it is a pat=
tern for each to do better each
day.
“pilot International belongs to
you, members of the Pilot Club

suggestions, all ideas; write them
down ana send them in to your
DAC’’, she said in her address,
delivered in a most charming
manner.
Pilot International will observe
their 50th Anniversary in 1971,
wouldn’t it be nice if the PI
Convention could be held in Geor=-
gia?' she questioned, as she
mentioned Golden Goals. There
are 53 Pilot Clubs in Georgia'
with 1658 members. Pilot Inter
national had a net gain in mem
bership of 694 last year. There
are 676 members of Anchor Clubs
in Georgia, she reported as she
asked Pilots to remember
“Friendship’’ and not let the
word ‘‘Service’’ always dominate
activities and motivations, ‘‘We
have fun in Pl and value friends,
the two are synonyms of Pilot
International.’’

Senior Citizen
Group Named
®
Sunshine Club
Sunshine Club was the name
chosen by the thirty members
of the Golden Age group that
meets at the Cedar Hill Homes
business office. The Club was
organized in June and interest
is increasing as the members
enjoy the fellowship and excel=
lent programs.
Mrs. E. P. Whitehead, Early
County Librarian, gave several
short reviews of books she ex=
hibited from the local library,
and following her talk checked
out twelve books to the Sunshine
Club members. Since the largest
problem for the senior citizens,
in using the books from the
library was securing the books
and returning them, the club
sponsors agreed to return the
books in two weeks. They will
be picked up at the business of=-
fice.
The Rev. Robert Sneed, pastor
of the Westview Methodist
Church, gave the devotional.
Six new members were wel=
comed into the club. During
the social hour, refreshments
were served to the 28 attending
by Miss Ellen Smith, Mrs. A.D,
Wilkerson, and Mrs. lva Herring
from the Pilot Club of Blakely;
and Mrs. Bubber Williams, Miss
Louise Gilbert and Mrs. Julian
Moore, Community Aides.
The organization of the club
was sponsored by the Pilot Club
of Blakely Community Service
Committee with Mrs. A. D, Wil
kerson as chairman. Miss Ellen
Smith has been named Chairman
of this project, and will serve
as sponsor of the club.
