Thursday was Mrs. Lloyd George, president of the Blakely
Garden Club. The Garden Club was the sponsoring organi
zation.

Mrs. Robert Stuckey (L) received the Award of Merit; she
holds a white peony and displayed a six bloom Apple Blossom
Amaryllis (center, table). Mrs. Charlie Dunning received
tiie Special Award as a non-member for her bearded iris (center,
back).

Mrs. Hoyle Fleming captured the Creativity Award entitled
"Birth of Spring” an iris plant with buds in graduated size,
growing out of an unusual rock.

The theme, "A Carrousel of
Color” was carried out through
out the clubhouse with emphasis
on the colorful carrousel with
miniature horses and centered
with a beautiful flower group
ing, which caught the eye as
visitors entered the door; an
array of satin ribbons in many
colors formed the canopy of the
carrousel.
Judges for the Flower Show
were: Mrs. Carl Sills, Mrs.
Joe Hunt and Mrs. Linton B.
West, all of Cuthbert; Mrs. Her
bert Ingram, Coleman; Mrs. Ed
win Jones, Arlington; and Mrs.
W. R. Andrews, Carnegie.
The Chairman, Mrs. Don Cur
ran, presented the Grace Balk

the Trl-Color winner, Mrs. Lloyd
George. The Mattie Lee Brim
Bonner silver tray, given to the
^cep stakes winner each year,
went to Mrs. John Hudspeth.
Mrs. George’s Tri-Color A
ward was for her Spring bou
quet on a lavish scale "Glory
of Spring” in Class 2, Section
1, of the Artistic Design Divi
sion; she is president of the
Garden Club.
The Creativity Award, won by
Mrs. W. H. Fleming, "Birth of
Spring”, featured white iris buds,
with a fan shaped iris plant
growing out of an unusual rock.
Mrs. Fleming was co-chairman
of the Flower Show.
Mrs. Hudspeth, Schedule and
Classification Chairman, has
placed first in Horticulture for
4 years, she received 11 blue
ribbons and several red and yel
low. Mrs. Dunning, with six
blue ribbons and several red
and yellow, qualified for the non
member Sweepstakes and re
ceived the Special Award for her
yellow bearded iris.
Mrs. Robert Stuckey received
the Award of Merit for her six
bloom Apple Blossom Amaryllis.
Mrs. Stuckey was Entries Chair
man.
Lea Chapman received the Jun
ior Achievement Award for her
"First Rose of Spring”, a Tif
fany rose, bud and foliage.
