TAX LEVY FOR THE YEAR
1969
GEORGIA, EARLY COUNTY

Arthur and C. Lemuel Tiner,
constituting the duly elected and
qualified Board of Commis
sioners of Early County, Georgia,
sitting for county purposes:
It is ordered that one dollar
ten and one-half cents on the one
hundred dollars, or eleven and
five hundredths (11.05) mills on
the dollar of the taxable property
of Early County, Georgia, as
shown by the tax digest of said
county for the year of 1969 be
and the same is hereby levied,
and it is ordered that the same be
collected by the Tax Commis
sioner of Early County', Georgia,
ad valorem upon all the property
subject to taxation in said county,
for the following purposes, to-wit:
1. To pay the expenses of the
county' government, one (1) mill
on the dollar;
2. To build and repair the
public buildings and bridges, two
(2) mills on the dollar;
3. To pay the expenses of
courts, the maintenance and sup
port of prisoners, and to pay'
sheriffs and coroners, and for
litigation, one (1) mill on the
dollar;
4. To build and maintain
a system of county roads, four
and five hundredths (4.05) mills
on the dollar;
5. For public health purposes
in said county, and for the col
lection of vital statistics, three
fourths (3/4) of a mill on the
dollar;
6. To pay county agricultural
and home demonstration agents,
one-fourth (1/4) of a mill on the
dollar;
7. To provide for payment
of old age assistance to aged
persons in need and for pay
ment of assistance to the needy
blind, and to dependent children,
and other welfare benefits, one
and one half (1-1/2) mills on the
dollar;
8. To provide for forest
protection of forest land and
for the further conservation of
natural resources, one-fourth
(1/4) of a mill on the dollar;
9. To acquire, improve and
maintain airports, public parks
and public libraries, one fourth
(1/4) of one mill on the dollar;
In addition to the above and
foregoing levy, the Tax Com
missioner of Early County, Geor
gia is required to collect for the
purpose of paying the principal
and interest of the Early County,
Georgia Hospital Bonds, and to
provide a sinking fund therefor,
a tax which was levied when the
said Early County, Georgia Hos
pital Bonds indebtedness was
created and incurred, forty five
hundredths (45/100) of a mill
on the dollar of the valuation
of all property which is sub
ject to taxation for the purpose
of paying off Early County, Geor
gia Hospital Bond indebtedness.
In addition to the above and
foregoing levies, upon the recom
mendation of the Board of Edu
cation of Early County, Georgia,
there is levied upon all taxable
property of and in Early County,
Georgia a tax of nine and seven
tenths (9-7/10) mills on the dol- 1
lar of its valuation for tax pur
poses, said levy being made for 1

LOCATION & DESIGN PUBLIC
HEARING
Notice is hereby given that a
location and design public hear
ing will be held by the State
Highway Department of Georgia
on its project number SP-1485
Early County if a written re
quest is made for such a hear
ing.
Project SP-1485 Early is
proposed to be the construction
es two land highway beginning
at State Route 38 near Saffold
and extending northeast via Ce
dar Springs to Blakely. The
project is approximately twenty
one miles long.
The purpose of the project is
to provide for better traffic ser
vice in the vicinity of the pro
ject and to provide a better
connection between Saffold and
Blakely.
Any interested person and
affected person who requests that
a public hearing be held on the
project must make such a re
quest in writing to:

stated, be made, and the same
be collected by the Tax Com
missioner of Early County, Geor
gia for the year 1969.
It is further ordered that the
notice of this levy be published
in the Early County News once
a week for four weeks over a
period of thirty days from the
date hereof.
The above and foregoing tax
levies for the year 1969 are or
dered and adopted by the affirma
tive vote of the undersigned mem
bers of the Board of Commis
sioners of Early County, Geor
gia, this sth day of August, 1969
