Bridal Tea Shower
Miss Debbie Paul, bride elect of Mr.
Danny Darley of Colquitt, was
honored with a tea shower on October
9th at the home of Mrs. I^emuel Tiner.
Mrs. Tiner's home was beautifully
decorated with arrangements of white
and pink flowers. Miss Paul’s gifts
were displayed for the guests on
tables decorated with pink satin rib
bons and a white ruffled umbrella.
Co-hostesses were Mrs. Milton
Johnson and Mrs. Alan Tiner. They
presented Miss Paul with a piece of
her chosen china.
Special guests were Mrs. Jack Paul,
mother of the bride, and Mrs. Jimmy
Dykes, sister of the bride.
Bridal Luncheon
Miss Debbie Paul enjoyed a
delightful luncheon hosted by her co
workers from the Georgia State
Employment Service in Bainbridge at
Moby Dick II on October 15th. The
tables were beautifully decorated
with a central arrangement of pink
and burgundy flowers, minature
brides and grooms, and English ivy.
Miss Paul was presented gifts of
lingerie.
Special guest was Mrs. Jack Paul,
mother of the bride.
Miscellaneous Shower
Miss Debbie Paul was entertained
with a miscellaneous shower in the
social hall of the Centerville
Methodist Church on October 16th.
Hostesses were Mrs. Jane Chandler,

The social hall was decorated with a
large drawing of an oak tree and the
initials of each guest and her spouse
were written on the trunk. Below the
colorful tree stood a wishing well
which held Miss Paul’s gifts.
Homemade pound cake with whip
ped fruit topping, coffee, and punch
were served. Mrs. Danny Chandler
prepared a special devotional for the
occasion. The hostesses presented
Miss Paul with a lovely wedding day
sampler.
Special guests were: Mrs. Jack
Paul, mother of the bride, Mrs. J.D.
Darley, Sr., mother of the groom,
Mrs. Jimmy Dykes, sister of the
bride, and Mrs. Wayne Vann, sister of
the groom.
Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Taylor proud
ly announce the birth of a son, Trey,
bom October 3,1982 at Miller County
Hospital. Trey weighed 9 lbs., 1 oz.
Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs.
Glenn Waller and Mr. and Mrs.
Ronald Taylor of Blakely. Great
grandparents are Mrs. Curtis Waller
and Mr. & Mrs. Jason Williams of
Blakely.
Trey is welcomed home by his
brother, Chad.

In a candlelight ceremony of tradi
tional simplicity, I-auren Alice Hall
and David Russell McNeal were
united in marriage October 9th at the
Fort Gaines United Methodist
Church.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Duncan Hall, Jr. of Fort
Gaines. The parents of the groom are
Mr. and Mrs. Lysie Evans McNeal of
Blakely.
The Reverend Asbury Bernard
Walton received the marriage vows at
the afternoon ceremony. A program
of traditional wedding music was
presented by Mrs. William Harry
Mills, organist.
The vows were spoken before a
background of fems, jade trees, and
clusters of magnolia leaves. Baroque
brass candelabra held white tapers.
Family pews were marked with satin
ribbon and trailing ivy.
Entering on the arm of her father,
the bride wore a gown of ivory satin
and Alencon lace accented with
pearls. The molded bodice featured a
wedding band neckline and long tradi
tional sleeves. The princess line skirt
extended to form a chapel train edged
with a deep band of matching lace.
Her waltz length veil of silk illusion
was bordered with lace appliques and
fell from a lace caplet. The gown and
veil were loaned to her by Mrs.
William Harry Mills.
The bride carried a cascade bou
quet of white roses and stephanotis.
Tucked within the bouquet were wed
ding handkerchiefs belonging to both
her grandmothers. One handkerchief
was carried by her mother and grand
mother at their weddings. She wore a
diamond necklace, a gift from the
groom.
The bride chose her three sisters to
be her attendants. Leslie Suzanne
Hall of Montgomery was maid of
honor, and Anne and Kathleen Hall
were bridesmaids. They wore white
handkerchief linen blouses designed
with high necklines and long full
sleeves with deep cuffs. The blouses
were worn with floor length teal satin
skirts and cascading sashes. Their
bouquets were of Fugi Chrysan
themums, yellow daisies and croton
leaves.
Mr. McNeal served as his son's best
man. Groomsmen were Michael
Evans McNeal of Mobile, brother of
the groom, Williard Jay Pope of
Savannah, brother-in-law of the
groom, John Alfred Felder of Atlanta,
cousin of the bride, and Ray Victor

Knight of Blakely, close friend of the
groom.
The mother of the bride wore a
dress of taupe georgette and a cym
bidium orchid corsage. The groom's
mother wore a dress of periwinkle silk
crepe and a cymbidium orchid cor
sage.
Following the ceremony, a recep
tion was given at the home of the
bride's parents.
Greeting the guests at the door was
Mrs. James Edward King, Jr. Miss
Sue Foster, cousin of the bride, kept
the bride’s registry.
The bride’s table and the registry
table were covered with yellow satin
and French lace overlays. Ar
rangements of yellow roses, daisies,
and Fuji chrysanthemums decorated
the reception rooms. Masses of potted
fems and caladiums were used on the
terrace. The round terrace tables
were covered with yellow cloths.
Serving at the bride's table were
Miss Ivey Graham, Mrs. John Pilker
ton, Miss Kathryn Synder, and Mrs.
Bradford Williams. David Anderson,
Trey Anderson, and James Coleman
served champagne on the terrace.
For traveling, the bride wore a
prairie ensemble of naturelie suede
with matching boots. She wore the
groom's mother’s corsage. After a
wedding trip to north Georgia, the
couple will live in Blakely.
Bridesmaid Luncheon
On her wedding day, a luncheon
honoring Miss Hall and her
bridesmaids was given by Mrs. Roy
Neves and Mrs. Roy Neves, Jr. at the
Neves country home. Miss Hall
presented gifts to her bridesmaids
and to Mrs. William Mills, organist.
Other guests were the mothers of the
bridal couple, the groom's sister and
sister-in-law and Miss Kathryn
Synder of Bradenton, Florida.
Rehearsal Dinner
A dinner party following the Hall-
McNeal wedding rehearsal was given
by Mr. and Mrs. Lysle McNeal at the
Blakely Town and Country Club.
Guests were seated at banquet tables
decorated with arrangements of
autumn flowers. A round table held
the groom's cake, which was
decorated with fresh fruit. Mrs.
Williard Jay Pope, sister of the
groom, and Mrs. Michael McNeal,
sister-in-law of the groom, served the
cake. The groom presented gifts to his
attendants. The bride-elect wore a
dress of Chinese red chiffon and was
given a corsage of white chrysan
themums flecked with red.
Prenuptial Parties
Following the announcement of
their engagement, Miss Hall and Mr.
McNeal were honored with a dinner
party given on August 22 by Mr. and
Mrs. Hill McKemie at their home near
Fort Gaines.
Miss Ivey Graham and Mrs. John
Pilkerton gave a kitchen shower for
Miss Hall on September 11 at the
Graham cabin in Fort Gaines. Guests
were former classmates of the bride
elect.
A cocktail buffet honoring Miss Hall
and Mr. McNeal was given by Mr. and
Mrs. Al Felder at their home in Blake
ly on September 11. About 50 guests
attended the party.
On the morning of September 12,
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Killebrew and
Mr. and Mrs. William Mills honored
the bridal couple with a brunch at the
Killebrew home. Guests were families
of the couple.
On September 23, Miss Hall was
honored with a brass and plant
shower given by Mrs. Billy Joe Jor
dan, Mrs. Harvey Brown, and Mrs.
Guy Dunaway at the Dunaway home
in Blakely. The bride-elect was given
a corsage of green silk leaves. Gifts of
brass and plants were given to the
bride-elect by the guests, and the
hostesses gave her a large diffen
bachia plant.
Dr. and Mrs. David Wetherby and
Mr. and Mrs. Brad Williams honored
Miss Hall and Mr. McNeal with a pool
side supper September 25 at the
Wetherby home in Fort Gaines. The
pool area was decorated with lanterns
and tropical plants and guest were
seated at tables covered with brightly
covered cloths.
On September 28, Miss Hall was
honored with a cola party given by the
co-workers of Mr. McNeal’s mother,
Mrs. Lysle McNeal. Special guest was
Mrs. Robert Hall, Jr., mother of the
bride-elect. A corsage of yellow
chrysanthemums was presented to
Miss Hall upon her arrival. A large
selection of gifts for the home were
given to the bride-elect by the
hostesses.
A morning cola party honoring Miss
Hall was given at the home of Mrs.
Marvin Weston King in Fort Gaines
on October 2. Co-hostesses were Mrs.
James Edward King, Jr. and Mrs.
Lyle Crapps. Miss Hall was given a
corsage and pieces of her China by the
hostesses. Special guests were Mrs.
Carl Clements, of Arlington and Mrs.
Robert Hall of Blakely, grandmothers
of the bride-elect, Mrs. Lawrence
Allen Pitts of Blakely, grandmother of
the groom.
Miss Hall was honored with a lun
cheon on Saturday, October 2 at the
Dogwood Inn in Eufaula. Hostesses
were Mrs. Herbert McKissack and
Miss Kim McKissack. A piece of her
china was given to the bride-elect as a
party gift from the hostesses.
Miss Hall and Mr. McNeal were
honored with a Cookout on the night of
October 3rd at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Dan Cox near Blakely. Guests
were future neighbors of the bridal
couple.
