Organic Remains.
Six tunB, in aft, I think he ground—
Six rasping, whee-whfijr, wheezy tunes,
All summer long he eame around,
And ground away the afternoons.
«■■ ■
One darned ettfnal horrid grind,
Of Captain Jinks and riot for .Toe,
A German. waftfc and Auld Lang Syne,
An Irish jigf and Jump-dim Crow.
This organ-grinder had, 1 Ween;
A look alf humble and forlorn.
And furthermore, of red and grasp,■
A monkey dressed in uniform.
. . ASS'*.
Bis moqkey-ship was keen and cute,
So clew, too, that I began
To side with Darwin, and to boot,
I thought the monkey most a man.
One afternoon the two came around
As usual, and a-grinding stood,
When 10! an earthquake shook the ground
And buildings of the neighborhood.
n»i. . •jjkf.
There was a sudden stampede then,
From basements through attic nooks,
Of children, written, dogs and men, •
And bottle-washers and chief cooks.
Pell mell, the culture and ill-bred
Without regard to courtesies; •
They found the organ-grinder dead
To all intents and purposes.
At least fragments, lean and lank,
LookUlflometmug 1 ike him, when adjusted.
Also a sol plus toll and crunk, ^
Proved cleuriy org. and monk, had busted.
SEtiCEfc. <
Some wag the organ lock kadf sprung
The night betwee, as could be seen,
And hidden in its wheezy .lung
An ounce of nitro-glycerine.
And when he ground, of course, you know,
An earthquake came, and suddenly
Be, and the turnkey, and Jim Crow,
All jumped into eternity.

AND
The, CixcrifNATi Convention'.—
The NetWork Trikune thus defines
the composition and objects of this
assemblage:.
The ■Convention to be held in Cm-
cinnatf oil the first day of May is to
be a Republican Convention. Neither
the Grant nor the Democratic party-
can participate in its deliberations.
The nominees will be Republican,
and it will then be the province of
the people to determine whether or
not to elect them. No man s vote,
who may chppse to give it, will or
can be rejected. The inquiry as to
what may have been his views in the
past wjl! hot be made. Although all
Republicans favorable to the move
ment are invited to attend, it is ex
pected, of course, that the represen
tatives of the different States will
meet separately and determine for
whom the vote of their respective
States Shall be given, as is the case
in all National Conventions. This
will put it out of the power of those
who might contemplate mischief if it
were simply a mass meeting.
