F BRUGMAN & SON,
41 Ann St.^New York; P. O., Box, 4580.
Eighteen hundred and seventy-sir is the
Centennial year. It is also the year in
which an Opposition House of Represen
tatives, the first since the war, will be in
power at Washington; and the year of the
twenty-third election of a President of the
United States. All of these events are
sure to he of great interest and importance,
especially the two latter ; and all of them
and everything connected with them will
he fully and freshly reported and expound
ed in T/ie Sot.
The Opposition House of Representa
tives, taking up the line of inquiry open
ed years ago by The Sen, will sternly
and diligently investigate the corruptions
and misdeeds of Grant’s administration ;
and will, it is to be hoped, lay the foun
dation for a new and better period in our
national history. Of all this Thf. 8rx
Will contain complete and accurate ac
counts, furnishing its readers with early
and trustworthy information upon these
absorbing topics.
The twenty-third Presidential election,
with the prepara ions for it, will be mem
orable as deciding upon Grant’s aspira
tions for a third term of power and plun
der, and still more as deciding who shall
be the candidate of ‘he party of Reform,
and as electing that candidate. Concern
ing all these subjects, those who read Tfus
§CN will have the constant means of be
ing thoroughly well informed.
Tjie Weekly Sun, which has attained
a circulation of over eighty thousand
copies, already has its readers in every
State and Territory, and we trust that the
vear 1876 will see "their numbers doubled.
It will continue to be a thorough newspa
per. ’ All the general news of the dav will
be found in it, condensed when unimpor
tant, at full length when of moment ; aud
always, we trust, t.eated in a clear, inter
esting and instructive manner.
It is our aim to make the Weekly Sun
the best family newspaper in the world,
and we shall continue to give in its col
umns a large amount of miscellaneous
reading, such as stories, tales, poems,
scientific intelligence and agricultural in
formation, for which we are not able to
make room in our daily editionf Tile ag
ricultural department especially is one of
its prominent features. The fashions are
also regularly reported in its columns;
and so tire the markets of every kind. ■
The Weekly Sun, eight pages with
fifty-six broad columns is only §1.20 a
year, postage prepaid. As the price bare
ly repays the cost of the paper, no dis
count can be made from this rate to clubs,
agents, Postmasters, or anyone.
The Daily Sun, a large four page news
paper of twenty-eight columns, gives all
the news for two cents a copy. Subscrip
tion, postage prepaid, 55c. a month or
§6.50 a year. Sunday edition extra, §1.10
per year. We have no traveling agents.
