jSfcjjrWe publish, in another column,
a tribute of thanks to those in this
place who kindly contributed money
towards repairing New Hope Method
ist E. Church" near this place, from a
Christian lady, who, in the Providence
of God, has been made to feel, while in
the sanctuary of the Most High, the
Rove of God flowing in her soul as a
mighty river. She also appeals to the
sympathies aud charities of those who
arc able to swell the little amount,
already contributed, to a sufficient sum
to enable the contractor to make the
necessary repairs on said church. Can
anyone, with a remaining trace of the
image in-which he or she was created
possessing the means, shut up his or
her ear, to the pathetic pleadings of one
so earnestly enlisted in her efforts to
build up the waste places of Zion ?

Mk. Editob: Allow mo, through your
columns, to tender mv sincere thunks
to the many friends J have met since I
have ani -ed iu your city. Small fa
vors, no matter what they are, are
highly cherished by me. To Judge
Milner and family, am I deeply indebt
ed for their kindness to me while at
their house. To the members of the
Brass Band, do I feel deeply indebted
for the very friendly manner in which
I have been received by them, and
they may rest assured that I shall do
all I can to advance them as far as my
poor ability will allow. To .VI r. Doug

feel grateful for their kindness to me,
and may they never have cause to re
gret forming the acquaintance of one
bo unworthy. I would be content to
spend my days amongst the noble
heartod people of your city, and
may Gartersville ever boast of its un
selfish ci.izens, is my heart-felt wish.

No better musician than Abel can be
found in the country, and no cleverer
gentleman. We cheerfully commend
him to the good people of Cartersville,
and can assure them he is an accom
plished gentlemau, and will give them
satisfaction. Take good care of him,
Sam Smith, and don’t keep him too
long, for we can t get along without
him. Success to Abel, j-nd all that is
near and dear to him.—Griffin Star.
Having known Mr, Wright for a
number of years, we can, without fear
of deviation, endorse the above as
truth, and are- happy to inform the
Star man, that, according to his desire,
so far, Mr. Wright has given perfect
satisfaction. We agree with the Star
in asserting that “no better musieian
than Abel is io be found in the coun
try, and no cleverer gentleman.” The
members of the Band are perfectly de
lighted with their accomplished, gen
tlemanly and efficient leader, and they
have determined, with his instructions,
to bon*?t of as a good a Band in Oar-
j tersviilo as any neighboring town
village or city iu the State.
You may rest nssurpd, Mr. Star
that we will tube good care of him,
but oannot vouch for how long we
shall keep him, as he has already Le

Citizens of Cartersville,

our warmest gratitude for contribu

the demand; stiff, we trust God will
bless your efforts with a success that

of just tithes, and yourselves of grace
sufficient to uphold and strengthen

Him for the air you breath, and the

your pathway ? When old age tremb

where then is the courage and inde
