&aT“Au interesting revival of religion
is still in progress at the Methodist li
< 'hurck in this place. There has been
some 30 conversions up to the present
time, and twenty odd additions to the
Methodist and Baptist Churches. — j
The meeting will be continued under |
present auspices until to-night (Thurs
day), and then the house, congvega- ;
tion and all, will be turned over, for j
the session, into the hands of the Mid- :
die Cherokee Baptist Association,
which convenes in this place, this week,
•commencing on Friday night next.—
AVe would here remind tlie good peo
ple of Cartersville that it is expected j
that all who can, will assist our Bap
tist brethren in entertaining the dele
gates and correspondents who may be j
in attendance upon the Association.— |
In our last issue it was requested of all ;
who could and were willing to enter
tain these visiting brethren during their
short stay in our midst, to report their j
names and the number they can ac- !
commodate to Messrs. Howard & Pea- j
cock, at once. "SVe are sorry to learn
that but very few have yet signified
their willingness so to do. We are
satisfied that it is not indisposition
that keeps them from it, but inadvert-,
mice. Their pure minds needs stirring 1
tip by way of remembrance. Come,
citizens of Cartersville, irrespective of :
denominational caste, let’s throw wide
open onr hearts aud houses, and give
these visitors a warm reception and a ’
hospitable entertainment. Go and re
port, without delay, to Messrs. How

Mr. Editor:
According to appoint- j
mont to meet to work on the Baptist!
Graveyard, seventeen men, two married j
ladies,* two young ladies, and one small j
boy met, and by applying themselves ;
closely all day, the work was completed
that was designed for the day, to wit,
the clearing off the ground.
The first appointment was at the
Methodist Graveyard, where exactly
the same number of gentlemen and la
ladies met, but as the yard is much j
larger, notwithstanding I never saw !
persons work better, we did not quite j
do half the clearing off desired.
Some of those who came out remain-!
ed one hour, some two hours, some j
half the day and some all day.
It does seem that out of a population j
of near two thousand, more might have ;
assembled.
It will take ouo more day’s work at;
the Methodist Graveyard, with about j
twenty hands, to complete the clearing ;
| off. That day will be the first Wed- !
nesday in October, when it is hoped j
that more than twice twenty will be j
I present.
The ladies with rakes do a great deal
iof good. Bring axes, grubbing hoes,
| rakes, boes and shovels, so that if we
I get through with the chopping and
grubbing we can fill graves and clear
the ground of trash and rocks.
We will have a day appointed here
after for all the old citizens and othere
I in town and country to meet to desig- ]
uate the different graves, so that boards
| may be placed at each with the proper j
names.
Those who have relatives buried at j
either of these yards, will, on that day,
i attend to them, if able to do so, and
1 the remainder will be attended to *>y !
those who assemble for work.
I will now receive bids, in writing,
I for making the fence round both yards,
jat so much a pannel of eight feet. The
; posts to be good lightwood, five by six j
: inches through, and seven feet long.— !
I The posts to be set in the ground two !
: feet. The fence to have a base plank !
, one by ten inches, and four other plank
• one by seven inches, with proper dis
i tanee, so as to make the fence five feet
High from the ground, in usual style.
! Those plank must be nailed on with
i ten penny nails, two being put in each
seven inch plank where it crosses the
post, and three in tho ten inch plank
iin like manner. The plank must be
I heart pine.
I I will receive bids till the first Wed
nesday in October, when wo assemble
i for work again. On the evening of
; that day tire work will lie let by three
1 disinterested men present.

rely upon wdiat I say. lam also prepared to offer to the public CHBNEY’S ANODYNE
COUGH SYRUP, an excellent thing for chit Iren. It ii regarded as a legitimate medicine,
and stands upon its merits, alone, and is a safe, reliable, family medicine for old and
young. In croup, ii has no equal; for whooping-cough, bronchial affections, diseases of
the chest, it is most excellent.
PRYOR'S ORIGINAL PILL OINTMENT
lam prepared to offer to the public. In burns, scalds, bruises and rheumatism, it is
highly recommended, as its name indicates, it is without a parallel in Hemorrhoids. Many I
good people bear Witness to this assertion.
GIGG'S APERIENT PILES.
I am proprietor of, and beg especially to mention, that in sick head-ache, sour stomache,
nausea and the bad effects of late hours, they are wonderfully successful.
All of the above I am prepared to Wholesale and Retail.
