In the Senate to-day fiLr. sunru *uid, that us
the defective rules of the Senate permitted a mi
nority to prevent a vote, he would, rattier than
sacrifice the appropriation bill, and parkaps ren
der the call of an extra session of Congress a mat;
ter of public necessity, and as tbe yeimto lias al
ready expressed an opinion in favor of the acqui
sition of Cuba, he said.be would withdraw the
bill aud bring il forward at the next session of
Congress.
The army appropriation bill was passed with
an ameudment appropriating nearly a mellion for
fortifications.
In the llorsE, the Post Offieo appropriation
bill was passed in the same form in which it Was
reported on yesterday.
The President eoiuniunieat al to the Senate his
veto of the Agricultural College bill.
An unsuccessful effort wag made to suspend the
rules, in order to take up tbe tariff’ bU.
Various amendments to appropriattons were
acted on ; and the Naval appropriation bill was
debated.

vid Ward and from the Bond and Mortgage re
ferred to iu said Petition and which is shown to

Bond and Seal by which ho promised and hound
himself to pay to the said Association the su*n of ]
four thou mad dollars with a condition annexed j
thereto, that if he. the said Williford, shall pay to !

void. And it further appearing to the Court that

mortgage deed by which he conveyed to said

owing the sum of money specified in said Bond
and Mortgage to said Association for the use of
the said David Ward.
It is therefore ordered that the said James 1)
Williford pay into the Clerk's office of this Court

said sum of four thousand dollars* and in default
thereof, thnt he shew cause why the cuuity of re
demption in and to -aid -Mortgaged premise*
should not he burred and foreclosed, same
sold according to law, in satisfaction of aid debt,
interest and cost.
Further ordered that this rule bo published in
The Columbus Times A Hentiuelonce a month for
four months, ora <u>py thereof be served on the
said James P. Williford, or hi* special Agent or
Attorney, at. least throe months previous to the
next Term of this Court.
