cannon at the Hotel dca Invalides announced tho victory, aud the city was brilliantly illumina ted. On the following day (Monday) tho Montotur published the following despatches from Tn* KMPEROR To THK EMPHKS.S. M aok-nta. Juno 18 ‘)9. Yesterday our army wa under orders to inarch on Milan, across the bridges thrown opou over the Ticino at Turbigo. The operation was well exe cuted. although the enemy, who bail rapaaaed tho Ticino in great t’oroe. offered a most dehorniiued resistance. The roadway was narrow, aud dur ing two hours the Imperial Guard sustained un supported tho shook of tho enemy. In the mean t iuje Gen. McMahon mado himself master Os Ma genta. Alter sanguinary conflicts we repulsed the enemy at every point, with a loss ou our fide of about 2,M0 men. The loss of the enemy is estimated at 15,0 th) killed and wound, and 5,000 Austrian prisoners rcmaiced in our hands. Mtacm, June s—Evening. The Austrians taken prisoners arc at least 7000 and the Austrians placed Aar# <h* combat are 20,- 000. Three pieces of cannon and two flags were captured from the enemy. To-day our urniy rests for purpose of reorganising itself. Our loss is about .">,OOO killed and wounded *and one cannon taken by the enemy. The following despatch, also from the Emperor to the Empress, was received on the oth and bul letined at the Bourse : SfAPOLBO.V TO FVftKNIR. HxADgi aktkrs, Monday—B AM. Milan is insurgent. The Austrians have evacu ated the town and castle, leaving in their precipi tAtion the cannon aud treasury of tho army behind them. We are encumbered with prisoners and have taken 12,000 Austrian muskets. A despatch dated Pari#. Monday night, Juuo 6, to the London Pott, says the Munieipaliy of Milan proclaimed King Victor Emmanuel, and have presented an address to him in tho presence of the Emperor. To-morrow the King will make his entry into Milan. Additional b) the Persia. New York,June 21.—The details of the battle at Mageuta were .-lowly received in England, and did not change the first complexion. The loss was undoubtedly severe on both sides. The Austrian official account only nek now foil g *s from four to five thousand killed and wounded, and says the allies lost half as many more. The Austrians’ headquarters are at, or near Cre inona, and they were driven from Marignon by Gen. Baraguay d'Hilliers, who captured one thou sand two hundred. The latest advices say that the allies- nr* ad vancing from Miinu. and that Prussia has show ed signs of aiding Austria. A meeting of the Atlantic Telegraphic Com pa ny had been held, and they adopted a report al ready published, and authorized the acceptance of the government, and the raising of anew cap ital of six hundred thousand pounds sterling. The English government have guaranteed a dividend of eight per cent, for twenty-five years to the company, provided tho cable is in working order and capable of conveying one hundred words per hour. The govern meat also agrees to puy twenty thousands per year for messages; and this amount, with the sum tobe received from the I'id led States, will probably induce an early sub ftcriptiou of the new capital. The luteal intelligence from Paris, state* tlml the Bourse was depressed, and lower, and the three per cents dosed at 01:75. The bank of Kranee had increased its bullion nenr two million francs during the month. It was reported that the Prussian army would be mobilised, and that Prusia would goon lake a part in the conflict. It is said Prussia is nego tiatiug for the passage of her troops through Germany. Garibaldi had beaten the Austrians at Brescia. Five hundred Zouaves were killed ut Mari gnon. The Austrians lost fifteen hundred killed and ! twelve hundred prisoners. The battle lasted nine hours. Both armies are preparing for another cugugw mt'iit. A special despatch announces that Can robe rt was not wounded at Magenta. LATER FROM EUROPE. OF THE KANGAROO, Xkw York, June 21. Tho steamship Kangaroo has arrived, with Liv erpool dates to the 9th int. Liverpool Ootton Market. - The market wu quiet, and quotations bad !*eeu barely maintained. The salt-? of the day were 6,000 bales. Breadstuff* were dull. Consols 93S The Emperor Napoleon and the King of Sar dinia had entered Milan and were enthusiastical ly received. The Austrians had evacuated Pavta. further by (hr kangaroo. The Bank of England ha* reduced its rates to 3 per cent. The Austrians evacuated Milan on the 15th instant. The municipal functionaries were retiring to Verona, and it was supposed they would discharge their functions in Mantua. The latest news from London was that there was a partial decline in Consuls, occasioned by the rumor that the allies had received a severe check in Italy. The defeat of the King of Sar dinia was even reported. The absence of news from Pari? had caused considerable agitation at the London Exchange. The Paris Bourse had declined one centime.
