Considerable cariosity is felt to know how the
military authorities wiil treat the request of non
commissioned soldiers to be released from tbeir
oaths of service. We have good authority for
stuting that, in such cases, the tegulations which
are read monthly in every garrison and man-of
war will bo strictly enforced. Congress gives
officers the right t . resign, but denies it to the
