FAMILY SEWING MACHINES,
I am authorized to sell these Machines at a re
duction on former pricos of from 10 to 16
per cent.; according to style of pattern.
All Maohincs warranted.
The Groyer A Baker Company i* one ofthe oldest
an i most successful of the originators and directors
of the biiHinoMs. It entered the field nt an early day,
when Mewing Machines were almost in Wieirlirsteia
ge§—when their manufacture wu* more o( an experi
mnnl than an) thing else. Step by step It hasprogres
sed in the develop.,lent olthe trade and the perfect
ing of iIH Machines; taking advantage of all poxi-
Ide improvements hi the make, adaptation and modi
fication ofthe machinery, it ha* enjoyed the exclu
sive benefit* ofthe inventive genius of one person of
the firm (Mr. William O. Grover) by which it lias been
placed in possession of privileges and patents that
have given its Machines peculiar andexclustve excel
lencies.
Tho mechanism ofthe Grover# Baker Machine is
exceedingly simple, durable and easily understood by
any person old or young; there ih nothing in its man
agement that the simplest mind may not grnsp, and
it is merely a question ol time and inemr> wiihuome
—mom ladies will learn ut once showing, whileoth
ers will require two or three lessons; frequently we
see little Misses, only ten years of age, op-rating the
Machine on straight seams without ut-fiifitance.
Families who are about to purchase, arc repectfVil
ly invited to call and examine for themselves, we
take the liberty ofsuymg, it is better for you to pur
chase ol a local responsible Agent, than from Ped
dlers who are (ruveiing through the country with
cheap Mewing Machine*.
