Saxon’s Academy.
The box supper at Saxon’s Acad

desk the school room. There was
a large crowd present and the oc

school is getting on well, with
about 45 pupils in attendance.

- Cares Catarrh by Breathing
Aromatic Healing Air.
You cannot afford to risk permanent
loss of health by taking strong drugs
into the stomach, in the vain hope of
curing catarrh of the nose and throat.
The only true way of curing catarrhal
troubles is by the use of Hyomei, which
is breathed through a neat pocket in
haler that comes with every outfit.
Hyomei is not a secret remedy, and
its fomiula is given to all reputable
physicians. Its base is the famous
eucalyptus oil. This is combined with
other healing, aromatic gums and
balsams, so that when using Hyomei,
the air you breathe is filled with germ
killing, health-giving, curative powers.
It kills all catarrhal germs and restores
the mucous membrane of the nose,
throat and lungs to a perfectly healthy
condition.
The complete Hyomei outfit, consist
ing of a neat pocket inhaler, a medicine
dropper and bottle of Hyomei, costs but
SI.OO, and extra bottles can be obtained
for 50 cents. It is not only the most
economical method of curing catarrh,
but it is the only treatment for this
disease which does not cost you a cent
unless it cures.
Dr. J. B. George has so much faith in
the merit of Hyomei that he agrees to
return the money to any purchaser who
can say that it has not benefited.

How to Avoid Appendicitis.

Tom Watson Buys Virginia Home.
Hon. Thomas E. Watson has
purchased the estate known as
Mountain Top, near Afton, Va.,
on the C. and O. railroad. The
place contains three hundred acres
and is ope of the most picturesque
in that section of Virginia.
It was in the old stone tavern in
1817 thaf the commissioners decided
where to locate Central University
—now the University of Virginia.
The old tavern was burned a short
while ago. It was located in one
of the most beautiful spots on the
estate, commanding a magnificent
view. It is in Albemarle, Augusta,
and Nelson counties.
Mr. Watson will spend several
months each year there. He will
retain his Georgia home also.
A Ballade of Protest.
I like full well our modern ways,
Os late inventions fond am I.
These are the wondrous, glorious days;
I’m glad last year I did not die!
Today great steamships quickly ply
'Twixt this and lands beyond compare.
But for one ancient thing I sigh;
Give me an old time love affair.
They sing today the modern days
That none of old had sense to try,
And there are. too. the modern plays
And buildings tall thrt reach the sky.
More wondrous is the . lodern lie.
Unknown to ancient folk; I swear
I love improvement; but. my, my,
Give me an old time love affair.
The telegraph, that lifts the haze
From things remote and brings then
nigh.
Is something that would make one gaze
Who lived in days departed. Why,
Should one object that wondrously
His words go hurtling through the air?
Though useful things I'll not decry.
Give me an old time love affair.
Sweetheart, forget the modern tie
That binds you in convention’s snare.
Forget these modern methods; fie!
Give me an old time love affair!
—Theodosia Garrison in Ainslee’s.
The Way of It.
Wouldst live? Then suffer much!
Drink deep the draft of pain.
He has not lived or he has lived in vain
Who knows not sorrow, has not felt the
touch /
Os pity for another, weary strife.
False guided hopes and love.
These things are life.
Wouldst hope? Look not behind
But step upon the past to higher things
And seek the sunshine. Upon fortune’s
wings
Tou may yet soar, and fortune can be
kind.
Why not? All life is change.
To all who truly hope
Naught is too strange. H
Wouldst dream? Look in the west!
Drink in the glories of the dying day
Where cloudy headlands dot the glowing
bay.
Where lie the heavenly “Islands of ths
Blest!”
There love is true. And things are an
they seem.
And all is good and fair;
’Tls sweet to dream!
Wouldst rest? Keep conscience clear.
Do well thy work nor heed the hurrying
throng
That tempts aside or bars the way. Be
strong;
Keep faith; go bravely on without a
fear
In conscious virtue. They alone know
rest
Who labor long and well
And do’ their best.

Summer Diarrhoea in Children.
During the hot weather of the sum
mer months the first unnatural loose
ness of a child’s bowels should have
immediate attention, so as to check the
disease before it becomes serious. All
that is necessary is a few doses of Cham
berlain’s Colic, Colera and Diarrhoea
Remedy followed by a dose of castor
oil to cleanse the system. Rev. M. O.
Stockland, Pastor of the first M. E.
Church, Little Falls, Minn., writes:
“We have used Chamberlain’s Colic,
Colera and Diarrhoea Remedy for sev
eral years and find it a very valuable
remedy, especially for summer disorders
in children.” Sold by M. C. Brown,
Gainesville.
Sent up for Ten Years.
Primus Buffington, who was found
guilty of voluntery manslaughter in
Hall superior court last week, was sent

years for the killing of Mose Buffington
several years ago.
“Make -Hay While the Sun Shines.”
There is a lesson in the work of the
thrifty farmer. He knows that the
bright sunshine may last but a day and
he prepares for showers which are so lia
ble to follow. So it should be with every
household. Dysentery, diarrhoea and
cholera morbus may attack some mem
ber of the home without warning.
Chamberlain’s Colic, Colera and Diar
rhoea Remedy, which is the best known
medicine for these diseases, should al
ways be kept at hand, as immediate
treatment is necessary, and delay may
prove fatal. For sale by M. C. Brown,
Gainesville.
In Memory of Col. Findley.
Appropriate resolutions on the death
of Col. William F. Findley were placed
on the records of Hall Superior Court
Saturday. A committee was appointed
by the court, Mr. Findley being a mem
ber of the bar, and suitable note to his
memory was adopted by the caurt.

A PICTURE THAT SPEAKS.
A photo that is expressive tells you
mauy things your absent friend might
say. It’s company, and very pleasant
company, too. But a photo must be
true to life; it must be made under the
right conditions. Then it must be
finished and mounted reliably and artis
tically. It should be honestly made,
from exposure to mounting and burnish
ing. And it should retain its clearness
and expression for all the years. It re
quires first-class equipment and ripe
experience to make such a picture. The
WHITE PHOTOS fill these conditions.
The effort of White’s Studio is to do

Cured Hay Fever and Summer Cold.
A. J. Nusbaum, Batesville, Indiana,
writes: “Last year I suffered for three
months with a summer cold so distress
ing that it interfered with my business.
I had many of the symptoms of hay
fever, and a doctor’s prescription did
not reach my case, and I took several
medicines which seemed to only aggra
vate my case. Fortunately I insisted
upon having Foley’s Honey and Tar
and it quickly cured me. My wife has
since used Foley’s Honey and Tar with
the same success.” Dr. J. B. George.

My short and happy day is done,
The long and dreary night comes on;
And at my door the Pale Horse stands.
To carry me to unknown lands.
His whinny shrill, his pawing hoof,
Sound dreadful as a gathering storm;
And I must leave this sheltering roof,
And joys of life so soft and warm.
Tender and warm the joys of life—
Good friends, the faithful and the true,
My rosy children anq my wife,
So sweet to kiss, so fair to view.
So sweet to kiss, so fair to view—
The night comes down, the lights burn blue;
And at my door the Pale Horse stands,

DANGEROUS GERMS IN SUMMER-
Strengthen the Stomach With Mi-o-na and Keep Well.
A wealthy philanthropist in New
York spends thousands of dollars every
summer providing milk for the babies,
with the result that the mortality is
greatly decreased. He appreciates the
fact that disease germs are common in
the summer and that the stomach must
be kept healthy to resist their attacks.
Older people do not Jive on a milk
diet to insure health, but they can so
strengthen the stomach and digestive
organs by the use of Mi-o-ua that they
too, will be free from sickness in the
summer season.
Take a Mi-o-na’ tablet before each
meal, and it will soothe and heal any
inflammation that may be present in
the lining of the stomach, give tone and
strength to the whole digestive system,
and aid you in naturally and easily di
gesting the food. It is the only remedy
known that cures indigestion and stom
ach troubles by strengthening the di
gestive system. It is guaranteed to
make a complete and permanent cure in
all diseases of the stomach excepting
cancer.
Mi-o-na restores complete health to
the whole system and cures headaches,
back-ache, sleeplessness, pains and dis
tress after eating, vertigo, heart burn,
and the general debility which result
from a weak stomach and imperfect di
gestion.
A guarantee to refund the money it
Mi-o-no does not show help, is given
with every 50 cent box. Ask Dr.
George to show you the guarantee.
