Storm In Thomasvllle.
Thomasville, Ga., was visited by a
severe storm on the morning of the
19th, during which houses, trees,
signs, etc, were blown down,
A fine building being erected for
St. Thomas Lodge, which would have
been ready for the roof in a week,
fell with a crash.
The kitchen of ReV. Wm, Taylor
Was blown down, a negro woman
being killed in it, and two children
narrowly escaping.
The large dining hall at the Fair
grounds‘is in ruins, the ladies’ recep
tion room Was partly destroyed, and
much of the enclosure was blown
down.
Tin roofing was curled up in all
kinds of fantastic shapes.
An immense tree blew dowh across
A budding on Mr. Hendrick’s place,
three miles from town, in which Were
six persons. It lodged upon a large
bed, under which three of them had
taken refuge. Hone of them were
injured.
It is thought, by competeat'judges,
that the storm will cut the cotton
crop of the county short a thousand
bales,
There was hardly a house or lot in
town but what suffered more or less.

Tii6 autjeci K>f this notice had been
a Sufferer for many long and weary

an unusual degree of patience and

A week or two befoVC her death,
she expressed her readiness to depart
and be with her Maker —said she had
no fear of death—-that her way was
Clear—and shouted aloud the praises
of God.
Her remains were buried the next
day in the graveyard at Corinth, and
her funeral was preached by Rev,
Mr. Bowdon.
Sister, thou has left us; hut While
we miss thee sadly, it rejoiceth our

Though we will ne’er see thee more
on earth, we have a hope of oße day
greeting thee in that land where part*

pain and trouble never enter. B.
