The merry Httle mountain brook,
as it lightly dances over the rocks
and sparkles in the sunshine on its
way down to the river, is pure and
dean. It is active; therefore, it is
healthy. It is vigorous; therefore,
it resists impurity.
But the sluggish pool, where the
current is not strong enough to
keep the water in motion, is stag
nant and foul. Dirt and rubbish
are thrown into it, and stay there.
Impurities and vile odors make .1
a breeder of disease and an ofrect
to be avoided.
When the blood is strong and rich
and red, and vigorously courses its
accustomed rounds through arte
ries and veins, the system is hearty
and healthy.
When the blood is thin and poor
and weak, impurities and defile

strength to cast them out. Then
th» system runs down.

HOLME’SIINIMENT
OR, THI
MOTHER’S FRIEND I
One of the greatest comforts to those expecting
to be confined is a remedy upon which implicit con
fldence can be placed—one that will produced safe
and quick delivery—one that will control pain and j
shorten the duration of labor. Such is “The Moth- I
ek's Friend,” Try it and see what
A Blessing it is to Suffering Females.
This Liniment when used two or three weeks be
fore confinement, produces a wonderful effect |
causing a very easy and quick labor, with comp*/
Htively little pain, and leaves the mother is a con i
ditionto recover quickly or in other words to have
a good getting up. Under its use, labor will ordina
rily occupy much less than the usual time, and
the suffering be diminished beyond expression.
The condition for which this remedy is offered hi I
of such a character as to forbid a long array of cer
tificates. Those interested in its use are respect
fully referred to the hundreds who have used U.
READ THE TESTIMONIALS:
I most earnestly entreat every female expecting
to be confined to use the r, THK Mother’s
Friend.” Coupled with this entreaty, 1 will add
that during n large obstetrical practice (forty-four
years), I have never known it to fall to produce a
safe and quick delivery.
II. J HOLMES, M. D., Atlanta, Oa.
A lady from one of the counties of Middle Oeor
gia, who lias been acting as midwife for many
years, writes: “I have disposed of all The Moth
kr’m Friend you sent me, and I am DELIGHTED
WITH IT. In every instance where it has been
used its effects have been all that 1 could ask. 1
CONSIDER IT A GREAT BLESSING.”
A gentleman writes: “My wife used your Moth
er’s Friend at her fourth confinement, and he
testimony is that she passed through it with ont
half of the suffering of either of her former confine
meuts, and recovered from it in much less time
Hhe also recommended it to a lady friend who wan
about to be confined for the first time, and she
says: ‘I HAVE NEVER BEEN ANY ONE rash
THROUGH THIS GREAT TRIAL WITH 80 MUCH
EASE AN i>8() LITTLE SUFFERING.*”
The names of all these, and many others, can be
bad by calling at my otllce.
Having had the foregoing remedy Thoroumhly
Tested in Atlanta and vicinity, I now offer il to
my patrons as possessing superior merits.
1 am permitted also to refer to the following well
known citizens of Atlanta: C. B. Newton, Wm. M.
Crumley, Jr., W. A.Gregg and U Bain; all of whom
are ready to testify to the mentaof the prepart
turn. Price $1.60 per bottle.
