C Warren two beautiful specimens of gold, recent lyfonnd on the lands of the late L. B. Warren, Bsqr., near Augusta. One was a nugget of pare virgin gold, as heavy as a gold dollar, and the other one was of the richest specimens of gold bearing quarts wo have ever seen. The xngget was |wgshed out of a pan of earth, and the gold quartz obtained from a vein of quartz npon the Hnds —the extent and value of which ■Spill be determined by future explorations. In these hard times the sight of the gold was refreshing. It is the intention of the Judge to develop at an early day these resources, and Ife trust the specimens exhibited are a part of ■millions of dollars of treasure soon to be brought to light. The church, the educational interests sf the country, the poor, ell are interested in this discovery, «s the well k«own Philanthropy •f Lindsay Warren bag demonstrated that he prices wealth mainly as affording him the means jileeaing others. uiMPritM mr wmsasram. We are pleased to see ihut so ma ny of our farming friends are becom ing convinced, llial tiiey ean realize more money for their cotton by sell ing in Louisvile, than by shipping to any other market. Notwith standing onr buyers have no coin petition, they always pay the high est prices, within one cent of Savan nah market, aud it is well known to all who have shipped cotton, that it costs more than that to pay the expenses, besides it is ten or fifteen days before you get your m<>ri“v, and the probability, if the priee de dines, of having \our cotton reje t ed on accounl ol false packing, mix ed cotton, or some other excuse.— We have as yet lo hear ol the first complaint of any cotton sold in Lou isville besides you get your money cash down. Our buyers in Louis ville, are fully prepared to buy all that may be offered fin sale, and will sell goods as cheap as they can be bought in the State. So we say, iiring along your cotton and sell in Louisville, and subscribe for your county paper, and you will always bless the day you di I it. The following is a draft of a Bill that has been drawn and forwarded to our Representatives, wiih arc quest, signed by quite a number of our citixens, that they procure its passage. It is anew expeiiment, and one of such importance, that our citiz ns generally should have an opportunity of expressing tl eir views about it. It is believed by those iwho have suggested ibis measure, yiat if will meet a necessity long felt, and will m ihe main remove (hose causes of complaint on tin part of Jurors, especially those from a long distance, “that they are not properly cared fur while engaged in public duly.” There may how evei he objections to the Bill.' Tin* object in view is to spread it fit fore the public, and if there be valid nb jections, there will be ample time, for public opinion to defeat ii, before the Legislature can act on it. Be it enacted by the General As sembly of the State of Georgia— That it shall be the duly of the Sher ri Sos Jcflcrson county, prior 10, or on the first day of each Term of ihe Superior Court of said county, to provide, at the expense of the coun ty, suitable board and lodging for each Grand and Special Juror, who shall be regularly sworn as a Juror, during said term ol the Court. All laws, or parts oflaws, in con flict with this act. are hereby repeal ed. ft uoutis.i.n (j p ti.i r .n/j.y. The Mobile Tribune passes the following tribute to Georgia. It is richly deserved : We have always looked upon Georgia as a great Stale and regard ed her sons as talented, brave and true, but we have been ignorant of the number of great statesmen with in her border* until Bullock’s resig nation made it apparent that a Gov ernor was to be elected for the un expired term. The number of truly great, and eminently good, and scru pulously honest, and unselfish patri otic statesmen —thought to be so scarce in these degenerate times— who have been unearthed by the newspaper* • and coi respondents, within the past two weeks, is per fectly astounding. John A. F.lmendorf, of Brooklyn, N. Y., now a member of the firm of Edward Smith & Cos., 162 William Street, New York, had his little son attacked by a hive of enraged bees that had been, overturned by a dog, and received more than a thousand wound*, his head, face and neck be ing black with stings. He immedi ately applied Darby’s Prophylactic Fluid, The pane was at once gone, and no sign of any inflammation ap peared, He believes it saved his son* life.
