Our Townsman Dr, Hunter, re ceived ou Tuesday last, two Bwed insh [migrants, who have just arriv ed in this country. They are both intelligent, tine looking young men, about 23 years ot age, and brought over by the Emigrant Agent Mr. J. Foss. They left Sweden on the 17th of November and arrived in Savannah on the 11 ih mat. As this is a matter of vital interest to the Souih, we will publish Mr. Foa»’ letter. Gotkb >rq drn, N >v. 3. 1371. But the since**ol theenierptise depends entiiely ou how these people are treated by their uew masters. The Swedes are very quiet hard-working and industrious, a good word wdi gna long way witli them, witen un kiiiduess soon makes the blood they have miieii.ed from their ancestors, the “Vikings,” run hot hi their veins. Used to hardships of ail kinds from early youth, they will him grumble, but they are not treated v» is well by their masters here, v\ uielii makes them anxious lo leave, and il not kindly treated in their new homes, they will write lo their friends here and Georgia will soon gel au ugly name In-re, and slop every bit of emigration to yom 6tuie. A Mrs. B , described as mov ing iu ihe‘'best circles” ol San Fran cisco, was lately informed by a let ter, that a beautiful and accomplish ed niece of an intimate friend was ahum >o make her a visit. Glad to welcome an Eastern Bel e, Mrs 11 determined to omit nothing that could tender her guest’* stay pleasant. In due time Georgia Mandcrville arrived, and her beau ty, her rare accomplishments, ami, above all, her luxiiant golden tres ses, became at once the the.me ol conversation among the San Fran cisco bachelors. The story is easi ly guessed. She came, she saw, she conquered. A wealthy broker offered the fac diluting niece his hand and heart, and, being fotunale in Ihs suit pres sed lor an immediate marriige. Nrs. B. rejoiced, and lo her tejoioing came the anxious niece. What should she do for a trousseou? trdie had written to her banker, but it took time to receive inixtey. . Ol course Mrs. B. was only glad lo ad vance ihe necessary SS,(MX>, and a magnificent array of laces and olb er goods was at Georgia’s disposal. Meantime, bavin® told her predica ment to her betrothed, he too, had handed his check lor a like amount to Ins enslavor. As they say on ih*> stage, “Exit Georgia, enter police.” A trunk ol cast off clothing and a profusion of goldeu hair was all that ihe fictitious niece hut clevffr swin dler had lelt behind her. ASA.Grr.tr a.vk mjvkjocu. The citizens of Brussels seem lo be determined that M. de Decker shall not bo Governor of the little piovince ol Limburg. The violent discussion in the Belgian Chamber of Representatives yesterday, over the appointment culminated in seri ous disturbances-at the capilol last night. A mob assembled before the residence ol M. Nothomb, a member of the Chambers, who had made himself quite obnoxious by advoca ting the claims of de Decker, and smashed ilte windows ol the house. So violent were their act ions that it became necessary to muster the guard to disperse the rioters. If the province of Limbing is the cele brated land that produces the famous cheese ol that name, we propose lo the people that they accept the ser vices of Bullock, a distinguished car pet bagger, who is just at preseut disengaged.
