Senator Clay, of Georgia, introduced a bill' in the senate to grant a pension of $75 per month to the widow of the late Captain Frank Crenshaw of Com~ pany A, 28th United states volunteers. Captain Crenshaw, it will be recalled; was wounded in battle in the Philip pines and was brought home in a des perate condition several month ago, dying in Atlanta. Senator Clay also introdueced a bill to admit free of duty all articles of manufacture controlled by trusts and also a bill to provide for refunding the tax laid and collected on raw cotton levied many years ago. 1 This bill is to be effective in the event 1 the law under which the tax was laid { is declared unconstitutional by the su preme court. ! Diep—The wife of Mr. Norman Gig nilliat died at the family residence in this county on Jast Friday morning, aged 61 years. She leaves a husband and eight living children. She was buried in the Episcopal cemetery in this place on last Saturday. Weextend our sympathy to the bereaved family.
