The Farmers’ Club wiil meet
Friday night, 25th inst. :
When wrongs come upon the
people and evils that effect the
people generally, laws must be in
troduced to correct these wrongs;
and they may for a time, but
we soon see the same evil
present itself in another form
that is not a violation of the law
that has already been made. Then
another law must be made to
head off this wrong—hence we
have laws piled upon top of laws
and still the country gets no bet
ter, and so many laws we scarcely
know what is law. The beet rem
edy to correct many of these bills
should be introduced in the home
and around she fireside, and in the
gchool room, instead of being -in
troduced in the legislature—for
instance the cigarette habit. Our
people will grow worse as a nation
unlese the youth is given better
training at home.
