Who ean tell the value of a smile?
It cost the giver nothing but it is be
yond' price to the erring and unrelent
ing, the sad and forsaken. It disarms
malice, subdues temper and turns
hatred to love, revenge to kinnness,
and paces the darkest path with gems
and sunlight. A smile on the brow be
trays & kind heart, pleasant friend and
a happy husband. It adds a charm
to beauty, decorates the face of the de
!.ormd, and makes a lovely woman re
semble an angel in paradise.
- Many fiéople think they might cease
to be fretful and miserable if they had
plenty of money. Listen to the wise
Franklin on this subject: ‘‘Money never
made one happy yet,”” he says. ‘‘There
is nothing in its nature to produce hap
piness. The more one has, the more
one wants. Instead of filling a vacuum,
it makes one. A great bank account
can never make one rich. It isthe
mind that makes the body rich. No
one is rich, however much money or
land one may possess, who has a poor
heart.”” '
