Mason it Co.’s Great American HOG CHOLEEA CURE AND PREVENTIVE. I ^KOMPTED by a desire to benefit cur coun try, and also to establish an important a t in science, we have concluded to offer to tlii'pldio the above named remedies for Hie ■ r. i 7 yr. rcnUnn of ll.ig Cholera. Medical gen'U'men of skill and experience began a sc ries of examinations wk n the cholera first began in this country; after having performed numerous post mortem examinations upon the bodies of hogs which had died of cholera, uml after great research and investigation to determine the nature of the disease, led by the lights arising therefrom, they undertook the cure of the complaint by various remedies. They found several articles beneficial, but success was not fully attained to until the above named medicine was compounded. The medicine was not sought out for the purpose of sale, but the great success attending its ise has induced them to form a company and obtain a Patent. We offer it as being, under the accompanying directions, fully capable ot a::'sting any epidemic of bog cholera, and f'tc qtt in giving relief when properly admiii- im*ro<l. We confidently believe that the rem edy is a specific; yet we do not recommend it as infallible in all cases, though we have never •mown it to fail, either as a cure or preventive igaiii: t the further spread of the disease when j 1-0*1 agreeable to the directions, uotwith- oanditig those free from the disease have been kepi iiueiose proximity with those diseased. it is a great Toni**, and will successfully rraave Mange. Sore Head and Vermin, either which will affect the health ot the Log, aud lap Iris growth and development. Nothing " ill make hogs sc thrifty as this remedy. We oiler no patent remedy for the cure of man, :>at we think that the pnde will esteem us as benefactors when they eon.-idei that we have, for rears, been investigating the diseases of domestic animals, which form not only a part of the wealth of the country, but afford sus tenance to man. Allow us to add that hog cholera is but a mild disease when taken in oarlv stages with this remedy, which will Iso remove worms from the bowels, and if administered once a month by the directions, B I 200 IRON. Regular communication was kept up both by tell* graph ami i.ad! with all the stations in the Sinus above named, but nothing transpired until about the first of D. ember, when r**, *.»rts were simu'd ineously reeeivi.d Loia Gliarlesteai and New (»rl*.*an .. . tiding that after a constant wa4 h. sustai »ed with the i lost unceasing vigi lance for a period of two months, the agents believed they were at last on the right trail.— Natmaily it was supposed that the meetings of ; these Secret s*xict*>*s would be held at the dead of night, and in tl*e most out of the way pla ces, and the chief efforts of my agents were in accordance with ibis idea; but as will be seen further on, this opinion proved entirely incor rect. aud much valuable* lime and strenuous ex ition was thus wad d. By a strange coin cidence, on the first day of December some members ol the day waton, both in Charleston and New Orleans, mentioned to the* agents at those* places that they had regularly noticed from 2 p. m. to 4 ]>. m. every day a greater commotion among the population than at any other time*. Tiie agents verified this fact, by peiS'jnal observation tlie* next day, and imme diately telegraphed me as above stated. 1 then notified the agents at other plat*. - of this dis cover}*, and directed their attention t*ban ob servance of any similar phenomenon in their departments. In less than a we k 1. became satisfied, from reports received from my agents in all the lately rebellious States, that the ram- ifieations of tlie association, whatever it might he, to which was attributed tiiis afternoon com motion, were very extensive. (>u December 2i)th, I ha*l feceive-I reports from Charleston, Mobile and New Orleans that it had been defi nitely a vtrk.ined Unit a great number ol tile inhabitants ot those cities assemble between tlie hours above limned, at private houses and at hotels, in cliques numbering usually five to a dozen persons, but reaching sometimes as high as one or two handled ; and that- at all tle-.-e gatherings, am*mg the many subjects discu.-sed, there was one which was common to all the meeting:, but that it was impossible t*» discover this by listening at dofirs and win dows, and it would be necessary, in order to obtain full information, to violate the privacy of families. T immediately telegraphed to them to en deavor to in'induce spies into the houses on Christmas day, as, that being a season of gen- eiiuril f-.-tivity. it could he done thenwith less liability of suspicion.
