The readers of the World will need no in-1

the late Mr. Pope’s Black and Tan Convention
at Atlanta. Our correspondent has'done that
eminent colored patriot ample justice, and
banded him down to a certain kind of fa in •
by a literal portraiture of his marvellous ora
tory and vigorous vociferous eloquence, Tne
other day the telegraph told of hi- arrest for
draw ing a pi-tol on the editor of the Savannah
j Republican, and his sentence to pay a fine of
'one hundred dollars for indulging in that
sport. It is reported that his care r as a • ol-

to Williamsburg, gave out that nc was a law

to sewing on *♦ uppers ’’ to shoes, and his
nights to the winning of the regard of a mu- ,
latto woman of that town, who loved him not

necessary to ryp 'ir D re the Kings county
gr.f i jury in Ju.ro, 1 850, and ir.ive him indict
