AUTHENTIC DOCUMENTS. A Great Kentucky Crow-Roost—A Mil lion or so of Crows. A correspondent of tbe Cincinnati Com mercial tells the following curious story about an immense crow-roost near Lex ington, Ky. He says : One of the most remarkable sights in Kentucky is the crow-roost seven miles from Lexington, on the Danville pike.— The roost is so old that the mind of the oldest inhabitant of the blue grass region runneth not to the contrary. Many years ago the roost was nearer Lexington, but as the trees were cut away the crows moved southward, always seeking the next piece of timber. At the present there are no large forests in the country near the city, and many pieces of timber have been called iuto requisition to lodge their black highnesses. Vicksburg, Miss., Aug. 9,1863. I confidently recommend its use to all policy. The result was a furious on slaught upon those who were aiming at him while attacking certain claims as cor rupt and fraudulent, knowing that he was the attorney of these particular claimants. It had been long known thut Gen. Logan was largely interested as attorney, or oth erwise, in these cotton claims, and it was fully anticipated that a moment would ar rive in this discussion when one of the impeachment managers would be called upon to auswer in bis own behalf. No one can now question the fact that the General is an exeedingly proper person to assist in running the impeachment ma chine.— Cor. Boston Post. Eettcr Learn in Time. White Man. ada, South America, a gentleman, some time resident in the United States, ex pressed the hope that the adoption of American institutions would place Colum bia on a level with the Great Republic of Nortli America.
