THE MOORE COTTON* GIN!
GENTS’ EUENISHHG GOODS,
Ms. Eon-on;
I dc-siro to say
-Before leaving Perry-
few words to the poo-,
ity. An academy is
needed. The one which has been in
use is ugly, uncomfortable and dan-
Igeroas to the health of the pupils. It
is one in which the teacher takes no
pride, the pupils are ashamed'of it,
and it is a disgrace to the- community
which supports it. For. three years
I have endeavored to establish a school
worthy of public support, and . now I
ask the citizens to build an academy
which will show what estimate they
put upon the education of their chil
dren.
The aggregate value of properly in
this district (Upper and Lower Town)
is §791,765; by a taX of one cent on
the dollar nearly- .§8000 may be raised,
or by a tax of one half cent, §1000
may be raised - winch would build a
very nice. academy.
Very respectfully,
Cans. M. Neel.
