Under circumstances most diseour- aging, we organized our society; and despite many predictions of failure, we have maintained onr existence, with increasing interest, for nearly a year. But with what results as to profit-, have we improved ourselves in the study of practical agriculture? Halve we ac complished any good for ourselves or others?—Let us see Has not the so cial interchange of opinions and experi ence, which has characterized ril onr deliberations, proven mutually instvic-' tive? Have not onr minds been turned from the old routine channel of think ing, and directed to new views-in agri culture by the many impropmtu sug gestions that have fallen from the lips of onr zealous few? Have not thoughts and feelings been expressed that tend ed to stir pur minds, and arouse onr dormant energies? Aye, doubtless, these things we so. If we have not actually learned, we have, at least, been incit ed to a deeper interest in agriculture, and have had unveiled some errors in onr own practice and policy as planters; and have been strengthened- in our resolntions toward the correction of such errors, and the adoption of a dif ferent and more rational policy. I think we may not say that we have not, in some way and to some extent, been benefitted by onr labors as an He will spend the first half- of each month in his office in Perry over the old Drag Store, and one fourth, or the latter half of eae-h month will be given to his practice, a Hawkinsvihe at Mrs. Hudspeths.’ ’• Good^TempIars.
