gratified to announce that Rev. H. R.

Mr. Felder is. well known'to every
body in tlie county ; Mr. Beck is
j oung Baptist minister, who. gradua
ted last summer at Mercer University,
and has since been teaching at Hous
ton Factory. The j school- has fallen
into good hands. It will begin ubout
January 1st, 1872. The particulars

Fort Yalley to run. a street railroad
from the depot to the Fair grounds. A

Still it is Sad.—The matrimonial
fever is raging in this section. Not a
young man can pass along the street
without some sympathetic friend poin t-

Cornelius A. Norwood died Tues
day night, at his father’s house, near
Peny, at the age of nineteen. He
had been sick nine days. The eimse
of his death was’ congestion - of the
liver and lnugn, resulting from pneu-
ia. He was a very promising
young man, modest and gentlemanly
in his deportment, of good mind aud
excellent character, and very highly
esteemed by all who knew liim. His
many friends sympathize deeply- with
his bereaved family in their affliction.
