Dr-Mary Walker Again.
Dr. Maty Walker is a strange prod-
fiCtof our lata war—a strange product
both of its . physical and theoretical
excitements. During the war Mary
found her way to Castle Thunder, in
Richmond, and had a pretty hard time
of it. The worst thing they did to
Mary in that lovely prison was to force
her to doff her unmentionables and
don the emblematic petticoat of her
sex. At first Mary wept, then she
waxed wratliy, and finally fell into
into love and quietude. At last, in
1864 she was liberated, obtained a
new pair of pantaloons, and in the
position of a martyr to patriotism,
stalked The smooth and broad ()ave of
Pennsylvania avenue, to the amuse
inent of the crowd of idle brigadiers
and colonels who ornamented the
porticoes of the National and Willard’s
hotels.
Mary eared little who was gazing at
her. She was always sure of an audi
ence at the White House, even with
Lincoln, whom she amused by her
pertriess and nonsensical affectations
of superior ability, which she would
assert in an English altogether her.
own. All sorts of things were saict
about her, but still she made a living;
and to-day comes the news of her
pacing the boulevards of Paris in the
breeches that were the wonder of the
avenues of Washington. It seems fiat

Mary has struck the right place at

in Georgia, is situated near tlie ceutre of the slate

It contains .about 900 square miles of territory,

total value of farm productions ol' that year were
$2,250,000,—being of cotton near 15,000 bales and
of com 363,000 bushels. In productive impor

Dear Sir,—When you sent me the fifty saw gin,
you requested me when 1 tried her to let you
know* how I liked her, and according to your
request I .will do so. Yesterday afternoon 1
timed her. I ginned ono hour and thirty minutes
on a pile of cotton that was too damp to be in
real good order. I then packed the cotton put
ting yards of‘bagging on the bale. I then
weighed it and it weighed 514 pounds. I do not
hesitate tc say she is the fastest and picks as

exchange her for no 50 saw gin of any other
