the affairs of the Freedman’s Bank are
. preparing a report of. their operations
rip to the-present'time, which will be
submitted to the Secretary of -the
Treasury! They have had more , diffi
culties to contend with than theyreal-
lzcd when they were first appointed,
and they arc not now ranch nearer the
solution of the problem how and in
what manner to pay the liabilities of
the concern than they'were a few
months ago. The prospect in that
problem will reinhin cnsolved-for
ninny a year to come.

of the difficulties of the Alsace and

parliament to the conquered, provin
ces. This is a generous view to take

far better to decide the complication
