Spring Goods P. Xfoialynski. It is hardly uece»s.uy ft call attention to the new advertisement of I*. Dziulynski, for it is suf iiciently attractive to draw the eye. Mr. Dzialynski has forwarded to Quitman, a large and splendid stock of goods, embracing ladies’ dress trimmings, notions, shoes, hats, Ac., Ac., and an imdtensc stock ol groceries of every description. An advantageous feature with-this establishment is, a proposition to .sell dry goods at Savannah prices, and groceries for cost and lrieght, and a promise, to planters to supply them at unusually low figures. Mr. E. Kubcnsteiu is the Agent of Mr. I)., at Quitman, and as he is very courteous and ac commodating to "all who visit the house we advise the reader to call, examine and price his j goods. The Agricultural Meeting. The meeting of citizens, called by h large num ber of planters and others, to take place on Sat urday next, for the formation of an Agricultural Society, it is to be hoped will be attended by the citizens of the county generally. Ily some, it is supposed that none but those engaged in agricultural pursuits are expected to take part in the deliberations of the meeting. | This ifc a mistake : pianters, mechanics, profes sional men, merchants, laboring men, all are in vited and expected to be present; for all are in terested in the formation of the proposed Socie ty. Agriculture is the foundation of our wealth, our future prosperity. If it fails, all interests I most suffer. In proportion lo the prosperity of the planter, is the success of the merchant, the professions, and the mechanic. They are all liukisi together : agriculture being the founda-j lion upon which tin* structure is erected. Therefore, those who follow a different OCCU- \ paiion w ill see the necessity for uniting with our planting friends in putting in successful opera- j tion an organization, which will, eventually, in-! crease the value of our lands, develop their in trinsic worth, and make Brooks one among the most prosperous, w ealthy and beautiful counties in Southern Gccrg’u. The IgrlctiP.urul Heeling next Saturday. hwroKs Banned : You have for some time parsed urged upon our people the importance of bu rning an Agricultural Society for Brooks coun ty. lam glad to see from your last paper, that sum >f them have been brought to appreciate tic* subject enough to call a meeting for that pur pose on next Saturday. I trust, Messrs. Editors, that our citizens will take an interest in this mai ler and respond, generally, to the call made. Let us have ‘*a large and enthusiastic meeting.’’ Agriculture lies at the foundation of our pros perity in everything. If the farmer prospers and brings money to our county, merchants, dor tors, lawyers, school-teachers, mechanics, and even printers may hope to get some of it. But it the fanner fails, the rest are “gone up." You can’t get -blood out ot a turnip.” Yours, SUBSCRIBER.
