ruinous to the Southern States, for it

to even meet these engagements in cur
rency. We have in this decision one ol
the beauties of the Eadical legislation,
with which the count ly has been cursed.
According to This decision, all contiacis
entered into since tRe passage of the le
gal tender act can lie paid in greenbacks,
but specie cun bd exacted on those of a
prior date.
The Georgia Legislature.
The Atlanta “Congressional Agency,”
adjourned on Thursday, the 11th inst.,
for sixty days; nnd for that peiiod of
lime the people of the State will have a
respite from legislative usurpation and
villainy.
