QUITMAN, DECEMBER 22, 1871.
Personal.— €apt. J. 11. Hunter, our indefati
gable Representative in the 8m e LegiHature,
ha? returned home; and we tire happy to find
him in robust health aud cheerful spirits after
his six weeks labor, at the Capitol. Capt.ll.
was untiring in his efforts for the interest and
welfare of his constituents, and although he fail
ed in securing the passage of a dog law. as rec
ommended by the Grand Jury, he is in hopes
that at the January session the bill will be
adopted.
Special.—No paper will be issued from this
office on next Friday, as our compositors claim
the customary relief from labor during the
Christmas holidays. An advertisement sheet
will be issued to meet the requirements of law
w ith regard to legal notices.
Pat Up.—Mr. 11. M. Mclntosh will call on
parties indebted to this office, during the holi
