P. L. Turnlkt Druqoist, is now pret ty well straightened out in his new store at No. 3 Choice Hotel. His large stock of Drugs, Medicines, Paints, Oils, Glass &c., &o., has at lost been transformed from the chaotio state, resulting from moving, and he now has all things ar ranged in good systematic order. It is but just to state however that the large amount of his sales has largely increas ed the appearance of disorder; and not until recently has he had the assistance of Kempto.n the accomplished Pharma ceutist and facetious gentleman. Turnley is bound to succfbd. A man who works as hard and advertises as lib erally os ho does cannot be kept down. A Secret.—Read Jim Langston’s ad vertisement in another column and you will find it out—not that Jim is as clever a follow ns there is in this “Lime, stone country.” Oh 1 no, that’s secret; and it is not that he keeps on liund everything in the shape of family ^ supplies—for that is well known ; nor is it that he sells on as reasonable terms as any body—there never could be a doubt of that. Do you want to know what it is then? Well do as we told you at first, read his advertisement, and if you are too dull to discover it then, cull on him and ho will tell you. Re in unbar that it is only a Retail Establish ment. Rain.—For two or three days during this week, wo have sufiferud greatly from dust—dust, everywhere, and noth ing but dust. Dust was king ; but its reign was finally brought to a close, and another began. On yesterday, the Bkies “gathering their brows, like gathering storm,’* muttered in thunder tones the words of the Roman of old, "Once more 1 swear the Eternal city shall be free!” in this instance free from cfusfiuits primitive nnil undegenerate state. In other words it rained yesterday and we all breath free once more. New Advertisements.—J. C. Eve oilers a bargain in ono of the best plan tations of ASoper Georgin. A. Riddle v.s noticed in another col umn , and no ono will be troubled to guess tile interpretation. r The Dalton & Gadsden R. R. Co., call for an installment. Sheriffs and Administrators will sell property. Latest News. Alabama National Democratic Convention. Montgomery, June 5.—The National Democratic Convention sends a full delegation to Baltimore, and also nom inations an electoral ticket. The seccders send delegates to Rich mond and Baltimore. LATER FROM EUROPE. Arrival of the Steamer Vanderbilt. New York, June 3.—Tho steamship Vanderbilt, with Liverpool dates to the ?3rd, arrived here to-day. Commercial. Liverpool Cotton Market.—Wednes day.—The sales of Cotton to-day were 5,000 bales. The market closed very dull, but nominally unchanged. General News. The insurrection in Italy was spread ing. The fighting had extended to the Roman Territory. Garibaldi had been successful. The Northern Ports of China were blockaded. Thormanby had won the Derby race. • Additional by the Vanderbilt. The Vanderbilt experienced a wintry passage, she having passed several ice bergs. Thormanby won the Derby takes.— Thirty of the horses ran. Mr. Ten Brocck’s Umpire came in eleventh Six thousand Sicilians have joined Garibaldi. The Neapolitan army were routed on tho 15tli by Garibaldi. _ -> The province of Palermo and Tra- E ani were in full insurrection, and have eon abandoned by the Neapolitans. A conflict took place on the 19th bo- tween tho Papal gendarmes and a par ty of Guribaldians, near Mentefiascene. Tho latter were routed and retreated to Tuscany, with thirty killed und wound ed. A party of fillibusters attacked and overpowered the Custome-guard at Onano. Tho former plundered the place and retreated to Tuscany. Tlie Papal troops were leaving Rome for the frontiers. It wns reported that England, Austria and Prussia nuvo guarantied the integri ty of the Ottoman Empire. Additional by tlio City ol' Baltimore. General News, The House of Lords rejected the bill repealing paper duty by eighty-nine majority. Latest advices, from Sicily say Gari baldi had made a decisive victory ut Moriali. The Neapolitan government had very little to:ay. Tho latest bulletiifS s;y that two columns wero pursuing the dispersed troops. Garibaldi’s insurgents wore daily guining strength. It was vaguely reported that France and Russia have signed tho treaty in re lation to tho Eastern question. Puris Bourse has advanced sixty-nine fames twenty centimes. The Russia troops in the Southern Province were reported placed on a war footing. Georgia Democratic State Convene tion. Milledoeville, June 4.—A caucus of tlie National Democrats was held to day, mol they determined to co-oper ate with tlie general Convention assem bled, ijp long as there was any hope, that a National organization would be preserved. In tlie event of Richmond, or a platform adopted different from that, adopted at Charleston, then the National Democrats will quietly organ ize a separate Convention. In tho lat ter event the Charleston Platform will be adopted. Delegates will be sent to Baltimore is the general impression, although the majority of tho delegates were in favor .of Richmond and Baltimore. The Richmond pure wore regarded in mi nority, and the Baltimore pure are in a similar fix; humorous results in any way but very uncertain, perhaps the adjusting line will be to send delegates o Baltimore with authority to consult ,t Richmond.
