Foucho', Esq., delivered an address before the “Rome Bible Class” on Thursday night. His subject selected was, “Jerusalem salt was, as it is, and as it will be,” but owing to its fruitfulness and the short time allotted the speaker in Which to prepare it, he disposed Of the first clause only. We congratulate ourselves that we were present. The audience will testify that our promise of muoh pleasure, made to them on Thursday morning, was more than fulfilled. We were not only finely entertained, but highly edi fied. The address evinced close appli cation and considerable research, was written in an attractive style and im pressively delivered. We were glad to hear it announced by Hon. A. R. Wright, the Leader of the Class, that from time U? time, similar entertain ments will be furnished the community by the members. We hope our citizens will attend these Lectures both for their own pleasure, and the encourage ment of the class. Sfteciql Notices. $75,000. X O. O. F. Baltimore Advertisements. Tho Baltimore Merchants seem de termined to change to some extent at least the current of trade that has hith erto gone to New York. Their facili ties ore not inferior, and in many arti cles are undoubtedly superior to those of their Metropolitan Competitors, With pleasure we refer to the cord of Canfield, Bros! & Co., Jewelry dealers. * This firm has been doing business for 25 yesrs in Baltimore, and has estab lished a reputation inferior to that of no other firm in the Union. We cheerfully recommend them to the trade. Armstrong, Cator & Co., have for a considerable time done a sucoessful business in Ribbons, Millinery and Straw Goods. Their stock is largo and they do a tremendous Southorn trade. Our Merchants visiting Baltimore should give them a call. ■— - . —• m » ■ ■ ■— The Cash System. Our neighbor of the Southerner seems to have abandoned the credit system.— We occasionally find little articles in •that paper taken from the CVurier, which, so for as appearances indicate their (withersliip, readers would sup pose were original with the former. We of-course osoribe this to over sight and not to may intention to ap propriate the sorJUblings of our pen; but if they ore worth oepying, they are worth claiming.
