We find the following in the Newnan
Ga., Southern Literary Companion, of
the 24th:
__ A man came into this place a few days
sinoe as un Auctioneer, accompaniedhy
a woman who h6 represented as being
his wife. I believe he came dirqptly-
from Lagrange here, where he had been
staying a few days. He failed to regis
ter his name at Dougherty’s Hotel, but
sent out posters all- around town with
the heading, “Ladies Auotion,” in which
he proposed tosell all hinds of dry goods'
ana jewelry rathe ladies, but the bnnd-
. bills contained ho name, it had been
torn off.,
