Jar From the N. Y. Evening Post Remembered, dwo11 A holy andunited to^d’well— ^ wSfeSl, beauti&f Midair; And tho’ I hfeld he?^W &«d wfcjpt. There cameadark^and bitter night, When leaden clouds were piled' aloft, And loudly winter winds did rave, And winter snows fell fast and soft, They fell upon her new-made grave. And now, when many years have past, When I have older, colder grown, There comes to cheer my heart at last A smile as sweet as Annie s own; Like stars that shine thro* Autumn And'brighten all the misty air. Such smiles for weary hearts arise To win them from distrust and care. Still in the watches of the night Those visioned eyes may came to me, Still may there beam from them a light,- A glance which I alone' can see. Remembrance of the dead can mahe A living love more fond and near, And it may be for her sweet sake, That these blue, eyes have grown, so dear; : ' ~ A Fact fob Consideration.—The Chinese are a proud nation, and natur ally enough. Their language has exist ed four thousand five hundred years, and everybody reads it. Our language is a language of yesterday. A person who lived in the Island,of Great Britain eight hutidred years ago could not un derstand one of us, and we could not make ourselves understood by him.— But Confucius wrote six or seven hun dred years before Jesus Christ, and his language is read, not by fifty or sixty millions who understand the English language, but by five hundred millions of the human race. What a wonderful power!—?SSr- John Bowring at a Tract SocietyAMgjfr. ^ gtjyOneoftho most stupendous works ever undertaken by any city in the Un ion, is now going on immediately west of the common in Boston. Some two hundred acres of flats are being rapidly filled up. The gravel and mold for the work is brought a distance of from six to eight miles on rail tracks, bring ing into constant use some ten locomo tives undone hundred cars. FOR INFLAMATORY DISEASES ONLY B .R. COGGSWELL’S New Medical Salt 1 instead of being a remedy for all ills, control ovor but one ill, has hut one aim, and acoompliahes but one thing, to wit: Sub dues Inflamatory Diseases—whatever be its form or locality, whether in the head, throat, •abdomen, extremities or skin. The peculiar etoOllenoe of the New Medi cal Salt is, that without, ihe useless loss of blood aud strength, it effectually cures In- flamatory Diseases (no others) by producing an equilibrium.of all the fluids in the body, the want of which is the solo Cause of in flammation. . Invalids, Take Notice! —The following forms which the- unbalanced fluids assumo and many not here -mentioned, that have more or less fever and prin, are easily sub dued by the New Medical Salt as fire is ex tinguished by water, to wit: Brain Fever, Headache, Bush of .Blood to the Head and Heart, Fite, Inflamed Eyes, Ears and Nose, Canker, Neuralgia, Spinal Affections, Ery sipelas, Bronchitis, Pleurisy, Asthma, In flamed Lungs and Liver, Heartburn, Coughs, Dyspopsia, VcneriM Diseases, Rheumatism bout Scrofula, Salt Rheum, and all Itel.ing and other outaneoua eruptions. . Dr. Coggsweti’s New Medical Salt exerts like the vaccine matter, an extraordinary in fluence over the veins and nrterlm, resulting in. a gradual declining of inflammation si in dicated by the pulse, which soon returns to 1 its natural state, as the heat, paiu and fever disappear. Dr, .OqggSHeH’s.Now Medical Salt does just whet it claims'to do no more no loss—equal ises the fluids by removing from the system all arterial and venous obstructions. Indigestion, Moused, Flatulency, Loss of Appetite, or any Bilious Complaints, arising from a morbid inaction of the Stomach or Bowels, producing Cramps. Dysentery, Colic, Cholera Morbus, <f«. In view of tho fact that every member of the human family is more or less subjected to some of tha above complaints, besides in numerable other conditions in life, which by the assistance of a little knowledge o. exercise of common sense, they may be able so to regulate their habits of diet, and with the assistance of a good tonic, secure pep manent health. In order to accomplish this desired object, the true course to pursue is, certainly, that which will produoc a natural state of things at the least hazard of Vital strength and life; for this end Dr. Hostetter has introduced to this country n prepara, tion called HOSTETTER’S STOMACH BITTERS, which at this day is n> » new medicine, but one that bus been tried for years, giving satisfaction to all who havo used it. The Bitters operate powerfully upon the stomach, bowels and liver, restoring them to a healthy and vigorous action, ang thus by the simple process of strengthening nature, enable tne system to triumph over disease. Diarrhtsa, dysentery or flux, so generally contracted by new settlers, ami caused principally.by tho change of water and diet, will be speedily regulated, by a brief use of this preparation. Dyspepsia, a disease which is probably more-prevalent when taken in all its various forms, than any other; the cause of which may always be attributed to derangements-of thu diges- tive organs, can bo cured without fail by using HOSTETTER’S STOMACH BIT- TERS as per directions on tlie bottle.
