Weareglsd to ennounce that the Mends of Bell rod Everest will O' grn- toea club in this piece ou ne::t F tony night. Here ofoie the two oilier par ties hevo monopolized ihe field, and we hr \ e been quiet spec! .lots of (lie I r >f- cidal war which ha3 been so fiercely waged. The Dougladtes and llreeVto- lidgershave boih thoroughly o ganized for the ermpaign rnd s\e indu. /.ous y •t work u.ging upon the people the pe culiar claims of he : r Candida-w. Thus far we have done nothing. Our • ou”se has been tucli c i to p odm.o doubt rnd dial rust in the mint’s of our {.lends, and render them 'usy t\»pi : ves :o.'be enemy. It is high lime we we e up and doing. Let us show the proplc by our works that we have the u.moct faith in our cause, rnd our Candida es; that we are not afraid to meet oar op ponents any where and upon any occa sion, and in any m. nner. Let us place in the hands of every man such docu ments rs John BqII’b Record and B. II. Hill’s speech. Our cjndidate for the Presidency has been assailed as unfaith ful to bis nativeSoutb, while his speech es and his votes triumphantly le’ute the calumny. The charge of abolition ism has been made against Edward Ev- erott, our candidate for the Vice Presi dency, the ablest statesman, and pur. est pal.iot in the Union. Shall we then longer indulge this apathy T Shall we not rather cast, it off and enter the con test like men and be “heroes in the strife t» We know there is but one response from the many hearts whose affections are enlisted in our righteous cause, and that; espouse is »loud and long “Hur rah ! for Bell and Everett!!” Then let every man do his duly.— Not only cotne youiself on next Friday night to the city Hail, but urge your neighbor to come, and we vyiU have such a rally, and make such a demonstration as will stregthen the hopes of our friends and increase the fears of ene mies. We are authorised to state that T. W. Alexander. Esq., will address the meeting. Those who.heard him on the 7th of. August, at the ratification meeting, villi not peed importunity to draw them out, apd those not so fortu nate have doubtless resolved not to permit another opportunity to go by unimproved. Pazrsss Douglas to Bill.—The Ath ens Banner says: “With Wm. B. Reed, of Fa., we be lieve “there are three candidates in the field infinitely preferable to the one for whom every abolitionist will vote.” Narrow the contest down still further and we tell our contemporary that there are two candidates preferable to Linooln and Bell. Such is the rabid Democratic spirit by which many of the suporters of Bell on Lccomplon. Of ali the charges against Mr. Bell we think that of hi* oppodlti^ft to. the codJlg Jtam as a whole to the vote of the people of the Territory to be ratified or rejected by them. Whether we agree with him or not, upon the constitutional podrw u * wm ’igr&iB»«wirf hook for this purpose, we cannot deny thvfeet that grOri ’frauds were perpe trated in the previous election, which called forth from Senator Hammond, of South .Carolina, one of the ablest men in the 8enate, devoted to the rights of the South and now warmly supporting Mr. Breckinridge, the indignant excla mation that “it ought to have been .licked out of Congress." But Sena tor Hammond Is sound and Mr. Bell is unsound. Again, these very mien who now make this charge, met in oouno'l in Washing ton city, and concocted the English But, which, upon a miserable pretext, an ob jection which was never Urged during the whole debate on the question, the Lecompton constitution was sent l eek, and thus was accompli*hed‘ : 'by a con. temntible subterfuge the very .h’ng thrt Mr. Bell was in f.' vorof doing in an how est, manly rnd straight forward way. And yet these Democrats are sound and Mr. Be’l is unsound. Answered at Last.—The question we propounded a few days ago relative to the vote of the Breckinridge Senators against Senator Brown’s amendment to the Davis resolutions, declaring that there was a necessity now for, protection, the Kansas Legislature having in the exercise of Squa. ter Sovereignty, passed laws excluding slavery f.orn that Terri tory, lias at last been answered. A piominent supporter of Mr. Breckin ridge says the resolution in the seceders platform, in favor of protection when ne cessary, was not intended to bear upon casting necessities, but was prorpee.ice in its opera.ions. We tremble lest this new platform may be found to bo another double con struction concern. Erom the Atlanta Intelligencer. Supreme Coart Decisions.
