by the assistance of a little knowledge c.
exercise of common sense, they may be able
so to regalate their habits of diet, and with
the assistance of a good tonic, secure per- :
manent health. In order to accomplish this
desired object, the true course to pursue is,
certainly, that which will produce a natural
state of tilings at the least hazard of vital
strength and life; for this end Dr. Hostcttcr
has introduced to this country a prepara
tion called HOSTETTElt’S STOMACH
BITTERS, which at this day is-nj a new
medicine, but one that has been tried for
years, giving satisfaction to all who have
used it. The Bitters operate powerfully upon
the stomach, bowels and liver, restoring
them to a healthy and vigorous action, nm
thus by tho simple process of strengthening
nature, enable the system to triumph ov
disease. Diarrhcea, dysentery or flux,
generally contracted by new settlers, nnd
caused principally by tho change of witter
and diet, will be speedily regulated by a
brief use of this preparation. Dyspepsii
a disease which is probably more prcvnlut_
when taken in all its various forms, (Ban
any other; the cause of which tuny always
be attributed to derangements of the diges
tive organs, can be cured without foil by
using HOSTETTER’S STOMACH HIT

this disease every physician will recom

been done. A slight, diy , cough is some
times an attendant. The patient complains
of weariness and debility; he is easily startled,
his feet are cold or burning, and he com
plains of a prickly sensation of the skin;
his spirits are low; and although he is satis
fied that exercise wouldbe beneficial to him,
yet he can scarcely summon up fortitude
enough to try it. In fact, he distrusts every
remedy. Several of the above symptotns
attend the disease, but cases have occurred
where few of them existed, yet examination
of the body, after death, has shown the
liver to have been extensively deranged.
AGUE AND FEVER.
Dr. M’Lane’s Liver Pills, in cases op
Ague and Fever, when taken with Quinine,
are productive of the most happy results. No
better cathartic can be used, preparatory to,
or after taking Quinine. We would advbe
all who are afflicted with this disease to give
them A FAIR TRIAL.
