As Outrageous and Infamous Aut.—
Some fiend in human shape, attempted
on Friday night lost, to throw the 12
o’clock freight train on the Geo., K. K.
from the track, by placing several cross
ties and two bars of Railroad Iron across
the trace at the crossing on the end of
embankment near the brick yard.--
The act wos committed between 11 and
12 o’clock between the passing down
of the passenger train and the arrival
of the up freight. Fortunately no
damage was done to tho train, the cross
ties being knocked off by the fender in
front of - the engine, and the bars oi
Iron cut in twain by the driving wheels.

numerable other conditions in life, which
by tho assistance of a little knowledge «.
oxcroiso of common sense, they may be able
so to regulate their habits of diet, and with
the assistance of a good tonic, secure per
manent health. In order to accumpl ish this
desired objeot, the true course to pursue is,
certainly, that which will produce a natural
state of things at thq least hazard of vital
strength and life; for tbis end Dr. Hostetter
has introduced to this country a prepara
tion called HOSTETTER-S STOMACH
BITTERS, which at this day is 10 a new
medicine, but one that has been tried for
years, giving satisfaction to all whu have
used it. The Bitters operate powerfully upon
the stomach, bowels and liver, restoring
them to a healthy and vigorous action, niuf
thus by the simple process of strengthening
nature, enable tno system to triumph over
disease. Diarrhoea, dysentery or flux, so
generally contracted by new settlers, anil
caused principally by the change of- water
and diet, will be speedily regulated by a
brief use of this preparation. Dyspepsia,
a disease which is probably more prevalent
when taken in all its various forms, titan

Hepatitis Of Liver Complaint,
DYSPEPSIA AND SiCK
i nr y » -
Symptoms of a Diseased Liver!
P AIN in the right tide, under the dd^e of
the ribs, increase on pressure; sometimes
the pain is in the left ude; the patient is .
rarely able to lie on the left side; sometime* '
the pain'is felt under the shoulder bjadc>
and it frequently extends to the top of the
shoulder, and is sometimes mistaken for i
rheumatism ih the arm. The stomach it
affected with loss of appetite and sickness,
the bowels in general arc costive, sometime#
alternative with lax; the head is ttqublcd
with pain, accompanied with a dull, heavy
sensation in the back part. There is gene-,
rally a considerable loss of memory, accom
panied with a painful sensation of having
left undone something which ought to have v
been done. A slight, dry cough is some
times an attendant. The patient complains
of weariness and debility; he is easily startled,
his feet are cold or 'burning, and he com
plains of a prickly sensation of the skin j
his spirits arc low; and although he is satis
fied that exercise would be beneficial to him,
yet he can scarcely summon up fortitude
enough to try it. In fact, he distrusts every
remedy. Several of the above symptoms
attend the disease, but cases have occurred
where few of them existed, yet examination
of the body, after death, has shown the
liver to have been extensively deranged.
AGUE AND FEVER.
Dr. M’Lane’s Liver Pills, in cases of
Aoue and Fever, when taken with Quinine,
arc productive of the most happy results. No
better cathartic can be used, preparatory to,
or after taking Quinine. We would ailvi«c
■ill who are afflicted with this disease to give
them a fair trial.
