TRICOPHERO U S.
K EMPTON’S TRICOPHEROU8 is a
Medicated Compound for preserving,
restoring and beautifying the Hair, for re
moving dandruff, and tor preventing the
hair frpm falling out. It is compounded on
purefy scientific principles, and is entirely
of a vegetable character. It strengthens the
roots of the hair by stimulating tho scalp,
cleanses the head, and as an agrecabla acces
sory to the toilet is unsurpassed. In the
words of a poet, who has proved its excellent
and varied qualities, it may now bo truly
said—
Behold a doable charm, whose potent power,
Adds a new grace to beauty's ohoioest dower,
Bids her rioh curls a silken lustre win,
Heals the torn flesh, and cools the burning
skin.
The loosened hair, touohed by its balm takes
root,
And from the scalp new, living fibres shoot;
And look at woman—lo 1 each flower tress,
Shines as it waves, though late ’twos lustro-
Smiling, she marks the change—her fears

In reviewing the records of the most rc
markablo strokos of lightning, wo find that n
Coppor Rod, throc-iourths of an inch in dia
meter, or an equivalent quantity of copper
in any other form, liar been able to withstand
tho heating effects of overv discharge of
lightning, eccuring within tile experience of
mankind; and in most instances a far less
quantity has been sufficient to conduct safely
the most powerful discharges.
In all cases, the metal should expose as
great an extent of surface as is consistent
with strength, and should bo perfectly con
tinuous from the point to moist earth.
Tho Lightning Rods of Amos Lyon, are
constructed upon scientific principles, an.'
fulfill all the conditions for the efficient con
duction of electrical discharges. Similar
bands of copper have been extensively em
ployed in tho British Navy, wilh perfect
