The friends of Bell & Everett and the
Union arc requested to meet at the
City Hall, in Rome, at 7 o’clock on next
Friday (to-morrow) night. A full at
tendance is desired at this lost rally for
our country before tho Election.

The steamships Teutonia, Anglo-Sax
on. and the Adriatic, had arrived out.
The Neapolitan Princes had ordered
a renewal of hostilities against the Gari-
baidians.
It is stated that there was considera
ble consternation in the Turin Cabinet,
from the fact that the Russian and Prus
sian Ambassadors had protested against
the Sardinian invasion of Naples.
The Allies in China hod attacked the
Chinese Tartar camp. The Chinese fled
in disorder. A grand attack on the Taku
forts was mado on the 15th August.
Senator Toombs at Montgomery.
Montgomery, Ala., Oct. 27.—Tho new
theatre buildmgin'this city 'was jam
med last night to listen to a speech
from Senator Toombs. There were ful
ly two thousand persons instdo of the
building and a great many outside,
who could not obtain places inside,—
fully five hundred ladies were in the
Hull.
Mr. Toombs delivered a historical, ar
gumentative, sarcastic and eloquent
speech, and urged resistance to death
in tho event of Lincoln’s election to the
Presidency.
