HYMNS FOK TIIE LITTLE ONES.
There Is a Oreen Hill Par Ateny.
There is a green hill far uway,
Without a city wall, .
Where the dear LofJ'was crneihcd,
Who died to save us all.
Wo may not know, we cnnnht tell,
What pains He had to bear,
But wo believe it was for us,
lie luuig nnd suffered there}
He died that we might be forgiven,
He died to make us good,
That we might go at last to Heaven,
Saved.by Ilis precious blood.
There was no other good enough,
To pay the price of sin,
Ho only could unlock the gate
Heave
Of
ven, and let ns in.
O dourly, dearly, has lie loved,
And wo must lovp Him too,
And trust in His redeeming blood,
And try His works to do.
I Irani to be an Angel.
1 want to bo an ungel,
And with tho angels stand,
A crown upon my forehead,
A harp within niy huud;
There, right before niy Savior,
So glorious nud so bright,
I’d make the sweetest music,
And praise Him day and night.
1 never would ho weary,
Nor Ivor shed a tear,
Nor over know n sorrow,
Nor over feel a foar; ,
But blessed, pure and holy,
I’d dwell iif Jesus’ sight.
And with ten thousand thousands,
Praise him both day and night.
I know I’m weak and sinful,
But Jesus will forgive,
l’or many.litth; children ■
. Have gone to lionvon to live.
Dear'Savior, when I languish',
And lay mo down to die,
01 Benoit shining angel,.
And bear ino to tho skies.
Oh! then I'll bo an angel, *
And with the angels stand,
A crown upon my forehead,
A harp within my lmnd;
And there, boforc my Savior,
So glorious and so bright,
I’ll joiu tho heavenly music,
And praise him day and night.
I title Things.
. Little drops of wntcr,
Little grains of sand,
Make the mighty ocean,
And tiia pleasant land.
i iAnd the littlo moments,
Humble tho’ they be,
Make tho mighty ages,
Of eternity.
So ouv little errors,
tend the soul away.
From the paths of virtue,
Oil in sin to stray.
Littlo deeds of kindness,
Littlo words of lovo,
Make on oartli an Eden,
Like tho Heaven above.
, Littlo seeds of mercy,
■ Sown bv youthful hands,
• - SrOw to bless the nations,
Far in heathen, lands.
Arounit the Throne of OAd In Heaven.
Around the the throne of God in Heaven,
.Thousands.of children aland;
Children whose sins are all forgiven:
A holy, happy band,
Singing glory, glory, glory bo to
God on high.
In flowing robes of spotless white,
Soo every ono arrayed;
Dwelling in everlasting light,
And joys that never fade.
Singing glory, &«.
IVlint brought, them to that world above,
That Heaven so bright and fair,
!V)iero nil is ponce, and joy, and love;
How came those cluldren there?
Singing glory, &o.
Because the Savior shed his Mood,
To wash nwny their sin;
Bathed in that pure AgdriprAioun flood,
Behold them white ana clean!
Singing glory, &c.
tin earth they sought tho' Savior’s groco,
On earth they loved Ilia name;
So now they soo His blessed face,
And stand boforo the Lamb,
Singing glory, &c.
Who shall Sing if not the Children?
Who Jhall sing if not the children?
Did not Josuh dio for thorn?
May they not with other jowcls,
Sparklo in bis diadem?
Why to them woro voicos givon,
Bird-like voices, swoct and elcar,
Why, unless the song of Hcavon
They bogin to practice here?
There's a choir of infant songstors,
Whito-robod round the Savior’s throno,
Angola conso, and waiting listen—
0, 'tU-swootor than thoir ownl
Faith con hear the rapturous choral,
When hor car is upward turned,
Is it not the smno perfected,
Which upon tho oiirth thoy learned^
Jesus, wlion on earth sojourning,
Loved them with a wondrous lovo,
And will Ho, to Heaven returning,
Faithless to Ills blessing prove?
Oh, thoy cannot 6tng too early,
Parents, stund not in their wayl
Birds sing while tho day is breaking—
Tell me then, why should not thoy?

Packino Cotton in Barrels.
The Atlanta Bulletin says that Dr. J.
W. Hutchinson proposes to pack cotton
in barrels instead of bales. He says
that a barrel holding forty gallons’ or
throe hundred and twenty pints will
• htfld three hundred and twenty pound s
orcotton. It is contended that his
mode of pocking will save not only in
tho cost of bagging, but that insurance
and all the charges incident to ship
ment will bo less, making, ho thinks, a
saying often percent,.
