Some time since as Mr. J. H. Smith
was crossing the Ocmulgee River on
Keys ferry, no sayv a jar floating down
stroam. He got a small royv boat and
succeeded in catching it. It proved to

don’t care to do so.”
“I don’t want nuflin.”
“Now, just look around the store and
if there is anythiug you want to buy, say
so. I’ll have to sell it to you ns I am
not able to pay the five hundred dollars
fine. If you haven’t got money cnougli
to pay for what you want I’ll have to lend
it to you, though I hope you don’t want
much, os I haven’t got but little.
“What’s, de price o’ dem pants ?” point
