Death of V. It. Evan*.
Mrs. Graves received a telegram yes-

morning of Mr. Vivian R. Evans, at
Sherman, Texas. The deceased was
well-known in this city where he has
many friends who will regret to hear of
his death. He was a brother of the
celebrated authoress, Mrs. Augusta
Kvans Wilson.
We met Capt. Thomas Lyon, of Bar
tow, in the oity last Tuesday and he
seemed to be in a good humor, having
sold Borne cotton at 105. This is the
same cotton he brought to Rome a few
weeks back, and all that he has brought
here this season. The price at the time
not suiting him he stored it for an ad
vance, and the Cartersville Free Press
published that be carried it back to Car
tersville, which was not a fact.
