Military Encampment.
We learn that it has been decided to
have the encampment commencing
July 7th in DeSoto—about a half mile'
from the court house in Rome. Ar
rangements have been made to have
the bridge free on that occasion to all
passing to and from the encampment
—except for hacks and other convey
ances that carry passengers at so much
per head.

of the Selma Rome and Dalton Railroad
as is in Alabama was sold under decree
of the chancery court, R. T. AVilson,

road being the purchaser at the sum
of $1,503,000, subject to the outstand

The road has been run for a number
of years by a Receiver under the direc

There areabout 170 miles of the road
in Alabama, and the corporation of
which Mr. Wilson is President owns
the part in Georgia, about 66 miles in

hands of one company, and it the pro

has recently been very good to largely
increase.
