Finn, aud Isaac Alderman, met at the Court House ,n Wednesday the 16th. This we believe is the second meeting of the Board. They passed a number of road or.l rs and also passed upon several claims against the ebuniy. Rev. II. W. Sharpe, was elected Clerk of t! Board. There is no provision ma in the hill for tins ofiice we believ but the servigag of a clerk for the Board, whose time, is given to the County free, is so necessary, we pr sumo the Grand Jury will at the next term of the Court supply any deficien cy that may exist of this kind. We had the pleasure of meeting -the hitter gentleman in our office, where he will always find a vacant chair when in Thoniasvillc. Wc had the pleasure of a call from Dr. A. L. Hamilton, of Atlauta on yesterday. He is ilic agent of the Hon. A* II. Stephens, and is engaged in introduc ing Ins “School History of the United States.” We understand that our teachers and Board of school commissioners are very favorably disposed toward tins work, and that it will in all proba bility, bo introduced at an early day in all our schools.
