We are glad to welcome back our
young friends, Guitc McLendon and
Andrew Taylor, by tho way two of
the cleverest and most worthy young

know have well improved their time,
and arc now prepared for business.—
They both look improved by Jheir

which he had just taken from the face,
just below the right eye, of Mr. Na

filled up and nearly healed over. Mr.
Flowers now toats it in his pocket,

face. lie is also treating with satitac-

checking the increase of the caterpil

ill turn out all right, and for the best

the whole we think caterpillars a good
thing. They ate the only thing that
can keep the farmers from making too

of it.

A Young Folks Party.—One of
c most pleasing affairs of the season
came off ou Monday evening at the
West End House, the occasion being
a party given by Miss Lucy Lintou
daughter of the proprietor, to her
young ft ientls. We have never seen
a more joj’ous and perfectly happy set
of boys and girls—bright happy smiles,
—eyes sparkliug, and brim full of fun,
—girlish checks crimsoned with blush
es, whilst ripling pearls of iunoccnt
laughter, rang cut clear and musical
on the evening air. The host was a
host in himself, aided however as he
was by the young folks favorite, Judge
W. , the happy hours flew by, like
magic, as juvenile feet tripped lightly
to the soft strains o! delightful music.
The young hostess, Miss L., acquitted
herself admirably iu entertaining her
juvenile friends, as well as some of
laryer growth.
Wo shall Jong remember the even
ing spent with our young friends on
this occasiou and hope that tlie golden
vista of the future that dazzled so
many bright eyes, raav prove do mi

Jo returned home humming,
“Would I were a boy again.”
