Let app Horrible and Revolting Murder. The Fiends Confess. On last Tuesday Mr. Juniper Hall. who has been Irving on Mr. Henry Wyche’s plantation, in the Duncan ville District the past year, come to town accompanied by four of the hands employed on the place, bring ing with him and selling to Messrs. I Kubitshek & Bro., seven bales of cotton. The hands started Lome in the afternoon, Mr. Hall staying in town an hoar or two longer, attend ing to some business, when he left nlso. Not coming home that night his family became alarmed at hi* absence, sent to town and have since ticen engaged in trying to find the missing husband and father. Yesterday evening wc learned from parlies just hum Duucanville that two of the four bauds who were id town on Tuesday, confessed to having killed Mr. Hall aud putting him in the cypress swamp, just beyond the Mc Lean place, some eight miles from town. Tiiis must have been about i he place where Mr. Hall overtook ihc wagons, It is supposed that the negroes thought Mr. Hall had re ceived llie money for his cotton and killed him for that, or some alterca tion may have occurred, resulting in tho bloody tragedy. When our m- foimant passed up the road, Dr. Rob inson aud a large number of citizens, were en route to tho place indicated, lor the purpose of finning the body. As we arc just on the eve of going to press, wc are unable to give any further particulars. Messrs. Ktibit- shek & Bro., informs ufi that they did not pay Mr. II. auj money on Tues day. • A rare opportunity will he given the lovers of amusement, io pass a pleasant evening at the City Ilali on Friday aud Saturday nights next. TUB CITY HALL The Gilbert troupe will play in the City Hall on Friday and Saturday nights next, the 5th and Gth insts. This brings up the question of the manner in which the hall is seated. Many persons would attend exhibi tions at the hall, but for the fact of the miserably deficient manner in which the seating arrangements are made. The consequence is, that troupes come along and are poorly patronized, to a very great extent on this very ground, and it prevents others from coming ibis way; the result being that the City Hal!, intended asja means oi rev enue for the town, is not used a half j dozen times a year when it pays any thing, and is consequently a dead loss to the place and lax payers. But the hall may be and sliould be made, a source of revenue. Put good comfort able scats iu it, have it properly ar ranged, pul locks on the doors and not leave them standing open as now, and then it can he rented for a fair remu- derniton. We hope that the outgoing or iucoming city fathers, will take this matter in hand.
