The same paper also says that the three men trom Hancock county who were arrested Tuesday evening for circulating raised notes through the city, had a trial in the Criminal Court room yesterday, before ‘Squire Ochs. The three men who have been arrested— John Green, George Lawson and John Col lins, all live near Sneedville, Hancock coun ty, came to the city in company, and were to gether when the raised bill was passed off on John KibSer, on Gay street. During the course of the trial, yesterday, it was discover ed that Collins had no complicity in the fraud but merely followed the other two around the city, utterly ignorant, perhaps, of their de signs. I 1 Infill A There are many people at Sedamsville, near Cincinnati, who are living witnesses to the ap pearance of an old priest in the neighborhood, since be died, and was buried by them. Father McLeod was for several years .-.tationed among them and preached at a little church on the Delhi pike. He was a learned and very eloquent man, and those who could tmasuie his mental pow- eiH and acquirements long wondered why be was kept in a little country parish while so many inferior men had risen in importance, and were clothed with the worldly honors ot the church. Father McLeod was a brilliant man as well as a bumble Christian, and it looked to many that his light was hidden under a bushel in the hermitage of Sedams ville. He was, however, a very pious man, and though sometimes shadowed by spells of gloom, he went about bis appointed work uncomplainingly. One day be was going to virit a sick parishioner—intent upon nis mis sion, with his breviary in his hand. lie had to walk a short distance upon a railroad track, aDd was run over and killed.
