The following is Grant’s speech:
Gentlemen of the Army of the Cumberland, Lidies
and Gentlemen:
It affords me very great pleasure to meet aga n so
many of my old comrsdes. I never bad the pleasuro | all^
cf being immediately connected with your distin-
gui.-bei leader, who has added so much lustre and
clow to the army of the Cumberland.
Thera was a fair attemlinca of merchants on ’Change
yesterday morning.

Stephen?, who have just returned from the West,
were present, and President Crane presided.
The fallowing changes iu prices were reported:

vanced the price to $12 50 per keg.
The Paris crew won the four-oared race at St. Johns
by half a length, the Long Shore crew a good third.

that boats belonging to the British Navy have been at
tacked by pirates nesr Penang and two of their officers
wounded. The man-of-war, Thalia, has been dispatch
ed to the scene of outrage, with orders to chastise ths
